Seems things are hotting up in the “rumour mill”.
Does anyone from DSGi have access to the rumour mill? It would be interesting to know what they are thinking at this point knowing Repaircare have shafted their agents and blaming it 100{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} on DSGi.

Just so we don’t screw this up by all having a go I have through NESN asked for a name for the guy who set up the NESN contract from DSG. If I can get him to come along to the meeting he might be able to clarify the position of this from DSGs angle.

Hi Ian…
That would be like an Uber prize to get a DSG representative there 🙂 So I hope you pull it off!
But regarding the RC Rate cut thread, that is for us RC agents to have a pop! Most of the people posting, wont be at the meeting, although efforts are in place to get the word to as many RC agents as possible to try maximise RC agent attendees.
In a way, and please correct me if I’m wrong, the more public the theories, the more a DSG rep would be likely to attend or at least reply?
Ade 🙂

KeymasterSet up. On the DSG thread now.
If we get a hut door on DSG, we publish it. Then they look as culpable as RC.
If they turn up then they obviously contest the RC story.
Can’t lose. 😉

It’s known as “checkmate”.
We’ll see what happens but I would expect that DSG will read the forum posts as they do monitor the site, how far up the chain it goes I’ve absolutely no idea but, they do read.
There are several inescapable facts though and a lot of things that I’d wager some didn’t want to ever see the light of day in that thread.
But the fallout, oh the glorious fallout of it all… you have no idea what a hornet’s nest has been kicked over by all of this on many fronts. It’s certainly got some people well and truly riled and provoked reactions from some quarters that I didn’t anticipate. Very lax of me.
But we’ll see, early days yet, lots of road to travel before this story reaches a conclusion.

I know the content. 😉
TBH it absolutely astounds me how a lot of companies still think we’re Neanderthals that don’t communicate and co-ordinate. It really is truly staggering.
It’s not like they weren’t told what was going on, we did it several years ago in Manchester with the whole “Sharks & Piranhas” presentation where we warned everyone in the room (there was a lot!) that repairers act as a shoal of piranha, little bites, often. The point was that, while all the repairers are going in different directions with their own agenda they presented little to no threat. But, if they ever got co-ordinated and acted as one, they were a dangerous force indeed.
I really don’t think they got what we were telling them. Either.
Then a certain tw4t from Rotherham went and spoilt it the following morning by trying to do exactly what John and I had warned about! Ho hum, such is life and it’s full of little setbacks.
Which is why that working across the industry with everyone is important but, at the same time, maintaining the independence of the repairers. They can’t be one, but they can act as one and present lots of small attacks… just like piranha funnily enough.

One reply to Alex’s post:
I got a phone call back from Stephanie Tamburro today on this subject and she has assured me that the DSGi contract is safe and will continue. She has also passed on to me Bernard is working on some new contracts at the moment so we will have to wait and see what comes to pass.
Stephanie ask if we have any question please contact her and she will call you back . I can only speak for my self but Stephanie Tamburro said she would call me back and she did, so Stephanie thankyou for your reply and I will speak to you again.

Might take years yeah! But we all young pups! Lets do it?! I’m some young dude that’s losing faith in this trade! Lots like me out there… Need to keep them! And me! 8)
I’m thinking on it.
There are rumours of “something else”. It will fail if implemented as billed but, it could do damage in the interim.
I’ve been planning something for a while now, quietly working away and drawing designs on what can be done but, if I did get into this, it wouldn’t be an entirely commercial endeavour. There is no way that I would support the advancement of an elitist few, protect boundaries across multiple contracts and a whole lot of other sh1te that comes with a traditional “network”.
It’s not Communism or any of that cr4p, it’s reality. If you want something to last then everyone has to have an opportunity and everyone has to have a vested interest.
But in light of what I’ve heard I am becoming motivated to do something.

😀 😀 😀
I having loads of fun here!!!
Got a call from Repaircare yesterday asking if I could do a call for them in Brechin. It was as if they were just ringing round to see if they could get anyone. Asked them how much and they told me the new rate. Told them no way!! and off he went.
Just had a call from a customer who I have been to before for RC, in Brechin, and she asked if I could repair her dishwasher and send the bill to Currys as she was told that Currys has no one in this area. Explained to her that I would do the repair but she would have to pay and claim it back from Currys. She went nuts! I said if she wanted she could ask Currys to call me and pay upfront(at my price) and then I would go out.
She is off to phone Currys, who I think will be RC, and let me know. 8)
