First idiot of the day.
‘How much to service my dryer?’
She’d been resetting her Hotpoint CTD dryer 😯 for 18 months after getting info on the net on how to repair it(pin in one shot), but now it’s heating up all the time, just taking ages to dry, noisy etc.
Mention of fire hazard etc went over her head, didn’t faze her at all.When she decided it might not be worth repairing she asked if I would buy it :clown: and sell her a second hand one (not a chance even if I did sell s/h stuff).
Conversation ended with her asking who sells cheap second hand dryers 👿Tony

You should have pointed her too the nearest pikey site.
I cringe every time I ask what’s happened to the appliance and get told the faulty component example recently I was told “the motor needs replacing” I respond what makes you believe that “My husband’s had a quick look”, turned out it was a blocked filter in the pump, the husband missed the water inside.

Just had one, customer phoned the other night to ask for a call.
As the location was near an already planned call I booked her in for “between 10am and 2pm”. I explained several times that I couldn’t give a specific time and she was Ok with this (in the end).
Gets a call next morning at 10:50am, “Sorry I can’t wait any longer as I’m at work until 1pm”

If I am in the kitchen when the customer says “the bushes have gone” I look out of the window into the garden and say ” no they are still there”
And at my age I should know better, but if I have to order a part and they ask ” how long will it be” I hold my hands apart fisherman style to give them an idea. 😆

Must be Derby and Joan day!Worked for Lux.area manager rang Friday night said a director/ececutive is in his caravan on holiday near you and his fridge has packed up,”OK I said I’ll call first thing Monday”
Area man said “no you will call tomorrow”
we don’t work saturdays (salaried) I replied.
He said “you do tomorrow” 😥
Fumed all night,got up early and was knocking on their caravan door by 7-30am 😆

Annoys the **** out of me when you book a call for, say, 2/4 slot with a customer, they say no problem, then as you’ve written it in they say either,
1. yes can you make it about half three then, I’m out till then
2. but I’ve got to go on the school run I’ll only be out for half an hour from 2.45
3. but I’ve got to leave at 4, leaving you no time to do most jobs anytime after 3.30. 👿

Just had a customer call – says its a recall from 5th September last year where I cleared the blocked wash arms along with the filters, says he hardly uses it and has never cleaned properly since my last visit.
Offered a call for Monday morning – His reply ” That means I got to wash up all week can’t you come today”
A couple of years ago I had a couple of messages left on the answerphone very early one morning, an elderly woman saying that she had loaded her washing machine and it refuses to start so the call is urgent.
Returned her call just after 8am and said that I would call in that morning – Her reply “No you cant come today as my washing machine’s not working and I have to do it all by hand”

Did the OH friends cooker yesterday, “How much do we owe you” says the my wife’s friends husband, just the cost of the parts I used £65.00 I said (cooker hinges and bracket repair for top oven grill element)reply came as “Is it ok if my wife gives it next time they meet for coffee”.
Yeah its not like I’ve called twice, paid for the parts and wasted time on a hardly any point me calling repair to someone we hardly bother with.
Why do people believe repairing appliances is a hobby carried out by people who have nothing else to do in the day but wait for them to call and us to then bend over backwards.
Still waiting for the call for them to arrange to go for coffee, me thinks it’ll happen at the end of the month when they got money to pay the bills and these are people who gave their 9 yr old daughter an ipad for xmas and the 12 yr old son an imac PC.

Don’t work Saturdays normally,guy rang up Sat am,you’ve been to us not long ago,oh OK,well 3 or 4 years !
Well the cookkers packed up no heat,fan oven,got friends round for Sunday,you couldn’t make an exception,OK I thought,Neff fan oven element,1 mile away,quick job for decent return.
Got my work gear on,phone rings,you’ll never beleive this,really,I rang someone else before you, left a message and low and behold he has just turned up so I wont need you.
Well flip me!
