hi, its me again, i just can`t let this go!
no, the washer side of things works great its just the dryer i`m having trouble with.
the new fan motor arrived this afternoon so i put it on and put some damp towels and jeans and what have in and started it on a drying cycle for 45 minutes. the fan motor spun continuously and there was plenty of heat coming through.
it went through the cycle with no probs. the washing was nearly dry so i thought i`d put it back in for a bit longer but when i started a new cycle the fan motor wouldn`t spin , i just a clicking every few seconds which i traced to the black analogue pressure swich . i know it was that cos i put my finger on it and you can feel it clicking.i took pressure switch off and opened it up but the small pcb in it looks fine
no traces of anything burning out . i have already cleaned the condenser(squashed bottle thing) and put a new air chamber in it cos i broke the last one. there is three thermostat type efforts on the heater housing .the manual reset toc with red button is ok ,not open circuit . the next to it is the same but the one at the end has quite restistence , about 50 kohms.
can anyone give me any ideas whats causing this .

50Kohms is probably a thermistor and that’s quite likely a good reading. Dunno why the pressure switch was clicking, where I live they’re almost never a problem (soft water). I’ve heard those analogic ones are easily damaged, e.g. just by blowing into them. All in all, you’ve got a real headscratcher there, probably best to give it a rest and go back to it later.

When you stop the dryer then reset it for another dry only session the fan will NOT come on straight away. I’ve never actually timed it as to when exactly it comes back on but at a guess probably within about 90 – 120 secs or thereabouts.
The black analogue pressure switch clicking thing likely caused by the rapid heat meets cold effect since the volume of cold air entering the drum from opening the door.
The bad news is that by taking that Pressure Switch to bits may have bu&&ered it, so beware of that potential new development.:rolls:

thanks martin. that makes sense. i was going to stick a new one on it anyway. though i can`t that being the end of my problems. you might think i`m a bit wierd but i actually enjoy this sort of stuff(but don`t tell anyone) 🙂 i`m certainly no washer repair man but i know a hell of a lot more than i knew when i started this . so the questions will probably keep coming for a while yet.that is unless the guys that run the forum get pi* erm fed up with me and throw me off the forum 😆

hi all
the dryer is still giving me problems.
i put clothes in and set it to cotton and then set the time for maximum length. it goes right through the cycle without any probs but when open the door you are met buy a ton of hot steam and although the clothes are hot theyre still damp cos of all the steam in the tub. its as if the steam is just staying in the tub instead of going to the condensor .
anyone got any ideas whats causing this? 😕April 18, 2011 at 7:08 am #341504Martin

It’s symptomatic of no water going through the condenser.

thanks martin
i`ll double check that and get back to you.
just out of interest, how high should the water level in the condensor be ?April 18, 2011 at 9:19 am #341506Applianceman2010

Can i just say to start off, i have just spent the last 45mins reading the WHOLE of this thread! 😯 as many people have said it is a bloody epic. 😆 The reason it interested me is because i used to own the exact same model and after i changed the door gasket on it it never worked again just kept pumping out.I spent hours on the thing with no success, then i saw towards the end of doing yours you had the problem to (but you managed to fix yours)mine now is sitting in the back of the work shop, so the long and short of it is that I FEEL YOUR PAIN! and well done for keeping going with it! :worthy: on the subject of the last post (the condenser not getting any water) have you checked the inlet valves on it as the only 1 thing i could find on mine was when i took off the connector the one valve was burnt out.
Good Luck Applianceman

cheers mate i`ll check that as well
the washer works fine on washing and spinning its just the this problems i`m having with the drying thats doing my head in!
it was vibrating quite bad and there was a small leak of watercoming from the door so i screwed the back feet all the way in an and raised the front ones a bit. that seemed to do the trick,no leaks and hardly any vibration , even on 1400 rpm! 🙂 -
