    Re: Whirlpool JT366 microwave

    Hi Martin

Easy when you know how 😉 you need to remove all the rear screws including the rear fan cover and you will find 3 screws at the bottom undo those and then put the fan cover back on. tip it on its back and remove the 2 skid feet and then remove the front bottom trim and you’ll find a couple more screws. the base will then come off.. :eeek: there is a black wire to the relay that is tight so will need to be disconnected as is a multi plug rear left and front left.
The base then can be laid down. the black duct is secured by ONE screw one the side T20 torx secures the mag into place.

    Reassembly by reverse :clown:

    Hi

You don’t actually need a Miele engineer as a Liebherr on will do the job to the same standard as these appliances are made by Liebherr for Miele. Where about in the country are you ?

    Hi

There should be a label round the door or oven door surround.. If not the you will need to take the oven out as there should also be one on the outside of the oven.

Re: LG / JTM Contracts Fridge Freezer repair shenanigans

    Hi

I have to say.. This is the service when you go to the likes of JTM that cannot back up the service they sell. You would have been better persevering and finding a local engineer who could fix it for you. These companies may be able to cover nationally but dont and cant make the engineers get the relevant training for the products that they service. That is not against the engineers but the company that you have the contract with.

    Re: Advice on changing brushes

A friend came up trumps with a Zanussi vac yesterday, a horrible looking yellow thing.
The motor had an 125mm fan chamber, so whilst not the exact motor, a few self tapping screws to stop it spinning, a squirt of silicone to seal it in the motor case, and it’s now fully functional again.

The Chinese motor is destined for the bin.

    Advice on changing brushes

You’ll see from my previous post that i’m trying to source a vac motor. Could I instead ask you advice on brushes, as it might be easier to answer.

The motor was not running when i got this thing, i delved inside and found one of the brushes was excessivly worn, to the point, that i’m not sure if it was even making contact. The other one was fine with loads of meat left on it.

So trying to be clever, I created a new brush from an old one that i had kicking about.
Before i write this motor off, could the arching be down to mis-matched brushes ?
And if it is down to mis-matched brushes, given the fact that it’s unlikely i’ll find the correct ones, would any brushes work, provided they were evenly matched.
What would cause one to wear out and another one not.
