On April 1st 2012 it will become a requirement for gas operatives holding CEN1 and WAT1 (now CENWAT) to obtain accreditation in the use of combustion gas analysers (CPA1).

You could always play their game, it’s not always the same part that has failed.. ( cough ) therefore it’s a new call and not a warranty one. But I wouldn’t condone that.

It does come down to a principle at times. The costs of a small claims court action is £25 which Is added to the debt which is due from the customer with also 8{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} interest from the date that the debt was due to have been paid. There are the professional non payers who will try to carry on getting the small companies screwed to their satisfaction as they know that the average engineer like yourself will just say sod it and let them get away with it. Can you go to tesco’s and get to the till and them say I don’t want to pay you and then walk out with the shopping? No so why let the customer get away with it just because they can.

Yep your call rate has gone up but they’ve screwed you by putting the parts mark up down.. Therefore your actual rate has been reduced.. Simples

Also remember r600a is flammable.
R134a is a hell of a lot worse for your chest when its heated due to a blockage and then releases.
treat any refrigerant with respect and you won’t have a problem.

Then you have the amount of refrigerant. Easy for me as I work off the pressures. Each system will hold a different amount. I do have a chart somewhere which I will try to find but r600a runs at -.450bar in vacuum.

Compressors come in standard and common sizes. 1/8th 1/6th 1/5th 1/4hp 1/3hp dependent on the size of the unit but it’s normally 1/8 small standard fridge 1/6th for large larder fridge upto 5′ app 1/5 for 1/2 / 1/2 6′ fridge freezer 1/4 large chest freezer 6′ approx these are for r600a compressors and you would go up one size for r134a approx 1/3 r134a is American side by sides 1/4 r600a will do a side by side American also.
