ParticipantRe: Bosch Classixx SGS53C12 Dishwasher
I think it does have a problem. I turned it on this morning with a view to timing how long it took but it starts up but is not filling with water so not even starting the cycle now. What could be causing this?

I use the Eco 50 degree wash so that would be about 2 hrs? Maybe I am just impatient and comparing it to my old dishwasher which was much quicker. I will check it next time and come back if I am still worried. Thank you.

Yes I am sure they are but will double check next time I turn it on. It takes much longer for a cycle than my last Bosch but yesterday it just seemed to be going on forever. Which is why I wondered if anyone could tell me how long a cycle is supposed to last. Thank you for your replies.

Not sure what you mean. Why would that affect the length of the cycle – everything is clean so don’t think that is the problem.

Thank you. I didn’t know that about the liquid.

Thank you for that reply. I have only had the machine a few months and although I only ever use one tab – I think I will go over to a powder formula so I can dose accordingly. I may also try using liquid next time I do a dark wash to see if it makes a difference.

I use the Lidl Formil tabs which I have used for years.

Thank you for your reply. I put the tablet in a net bag under the clothes and never overfill the machine. I may try putting it on top of the clothes and see if that makes a difference. It is just strange that I have never had this problem before.

Thanks Martin – will have a look at that site. I am clutching at straws but feel there must be some old stock somewhere.

ParticipantRe: Bosch dishwasher door catch broken
Thank you for your help. The part number that you have given me is the door catch which I think is okay. I did not describe the problem properly as it is the door handle that is broken – I believe it is part no. 056480 but not sure if this will fit my model. If it is just the handle to replace will I have to dismantle the door as you describe?

ParticipantHow easy would it be to replace a pump in a 10 year old AEG? Is it very comlicated?

ParticipantRe: AEG Washing machine will not pump out
thank you both for your time and advice. so it will need a new pump. It is 10 years old and this is the first time I have had a problem. As I use it every day I don’t think that is bad going.
