ParticipantRe: D&G
They phoned me up after reading my post yesterday and pointed out that as per contract I must not discuss or divulge rates etc. Consider my arse has been kicked!
Thanks to a phone call to the right person, a little bit of editing carried out, and hopefully I will not have the heavy mob coming round.
I’m particularly aggrieved regards the parts mark up, but there again how would they know where we buy the bits from and at what cost?
Servis bits from AWS can be up to half the Connect price, which of course I use as a base-line.
I’m even more pissed off than some because they intercept all Service Force chargeable calls that come in via the 0845 number, and sell the punter a policy. As this is a sales pitch, they use sales people who are on targets, and then they refuse to put people though until they provide bank details and set up a direct debit.
I’m just waiting for the OFT or Trading Standards to get hold of this.

ParticipantRe: connells estate agents nightmare!
Whether estate agents, landlords or managing agents, when they don’t pay, we chase the tenant or householder.
Before we do however, we always tell those that we invoiced what we are about to do & why. 100{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} success rate so far.

ParticipantRe: D&G Contract
I note they start the letter where they “Have pleasure [sic] in writing to advise repair rates are to be increased”
They go on to say that the increase is for contractors that have provided a quality service to their products. Well that can’t be us then! Disappointing really as we are constantly in the top 10, as well as winning an award for outstanding service for 2010.
The increase on average in my case is 1.97{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d}. The BER rate has been dropped.
The parts mark-up down by as well.
Regards the warranty period of 12 months. We have had to bear that for years and practically with regard to most contracts we operate. Connect are one of the good guys in that respect.

ParticipantRe: Chairman Statement
I feel reassured by the way in which this has been handled by the Chairman, with full integrity and a carefully measured response.
It would have been easy for him to attempt to “Fight fire with fire” However, that would have fanned the flames.
It was patently obvious someone had abused a position, was given the opportunity to quietly deal with it, and yet another option was embarked upon by said perpetrator.
One thing I learned a long time ago:- In business you never make enemies on the way up, as you will probably meet them again on the way down. I hope the instigator of this whole affair will take that on board.
We are an incestuous bunch, and tend to keep bumping into each other many times via different routes and through differing work providers, manufacturers and insurers. I suspect someone will be looking at their feet in future.

ParticipantRe: Our Adrian
So then what happens, our idiot friend Martin does this…. JUST IN CASE YOU ALL MISSED IT, TAKE A LOOK AT THIS
Friend Dr Dill pointed out the idiocy in that little action.
Would be just like Martin to start taking sides. Knowing him, the wrong side.

I don’t want to just be seen to arbitrarily do it as that would be twisted as well. K.
I would have done, but got fed up with the forum “ping-pong” and sloped off to bed.
What I don’t get is, his theory re Nigel Dilley becoming a councillor. There would have to be a vote, and that would be like turkeys voting for Christmas twice a year. Also Dilley boy comes from the furthest part of Cornwall, not realistic for him to travel.
Observation: it has brought out the real Adrian Whelke, and strangely Nigel Dill has remained the same. Also Dilley latched onto Ade being an active member of WTA and using it (as per public perception) as a tool.
Sadly FME has been endorsed by DASA, I tried to tell Dave Coombes on Tuesday it was Adrian’s baby but Dave insisted it was some guy whose name began with a “P”
Being cynical, I suspect Ades business is struggling, and FME was hopefully going to become his crutch. If not he is on his way to the funny farm (With Trees and Flowers, and Chirping birds and basket weavers who sit and smile and twiddle their thumbs and toes)

ParticipantRe: Welcome To The War Room
I wondered for a minute if you meant he was off the site altogether.
Best if he is not removed totally as he will be even more troublesome.
Re Whirl 4, it is just that a few think he is, and I won’t leap to his defence next time that question arises.
He will regret this perhaps when he sobers up.

Now all I have to do is mop up the s**t again. 🙁
K.When you say removed, is that total removal? If so will that include his pseudonym as well? There is a school of thought among Connect agents that he is Whirl-4.

ParticipantRe: Welcome To The War Room
I’m ashamed to say I was the one who picked up the phone and asked for his inclusion.
When I’m wrong, I do admit to it.
I sent an SMS earlier asking him to be removed from here before he copies & pastes anything. After all Martin was expelled simply for appearing to be a nutter, Ade is a nutter.
Please make sue the removal is permanent.
Moreover, let him find out for himself when he tries to get in here.

ParticipantRe: Ranks
One thing I noticed today. Some posters user names are in yellow? Would this be related to changes.
B.T.W. Division Bell back up & running. I felt bereft.

K.My theory is in cases like this, “If you want it fixed, then I want the support and back-up as regards tech information and equipment”
If we are not given the proper tools, then of course we cannot do the job properly!
The problems will be national I’m sure so a solution will have to put in place nationally as well.

Not exactly through Hotpoint Hoover/Candy, but relates to goods on a Littlewoods Direct Account.
Don’t think we will be swamped with work though.
To be honest when we reached this point with Bosch I thought the same as Whirl 4 does on this, and would be out of our comfort zone, and was surprised regards our own adaptability.
With the repair business being in flux at present, I don’t see the problem. Another string to our bow.

ParticipantRe: Repaircare…
Well. Finally happened! Letter received today DSG C/Plan & Whatever Hapens being done by Currys group with a new direct service operation as from May.
This came out 24th January & I told one or two when I was at the DASA meeting on the 26th.
Those that I gave the heads up to were having none of it!
How naive can they be?

Sent this to Dave Heighton earlier.
Dave,
You are right about that e-mail. Especially when you look at this, and I have invested time etc on some jobs that are now over 6 months old and I have not been able to invoice you for them. I think an apology is due perhaps!Point is, we get an e-mail suggesting perhaps we are crap, yet this job ALL the way through has had issues; and despite many e-mails and notices on this call that there remains a problem with the thermocouple, we get a file for the burner issue that was resolved last time.
We have had that one call going on for Months on a Simfer cooker where the burner we kept getting was wrong, and finally once they got that right, they have not been able to sort the thermocouple which also keeps arriving wrong.
Despite 8 e-mails for the T/Couple they keep trying to resolve the burner issue which was sorted months ago.
All their calls are stuck in their system thanks to delays their end.

I had my payments in my bank Yesterday Tues 6th.
It just might be that this guy is not serious, and may sleep on it, hence my reason for not naming him.
Somehow I suspect they may be leaning against an open door, can of worms and all that!
