    Re: Web Site

There is a reason for the above. The site is under reconstruction, we are doing a complete re-work, which will include pointers on every page. As a result it is in abeyance, plus the guy that has been doing the work is in the Phillipines at the mo.

I don’t pay a penny for the site maintenance, but will have to for the re-write.

This led to a conversation where UKW could kill off DASA, raised by Jason, which was generally agreed that whilst it could happen it was not a certainty. This led to Ian Dales pointing out that one of the biggest failings of DASA that it offered little or no return for the money paid to it. The topic was dropped.

May I point you all to the DASA forum on the site.

I make no aoplogies for my views and am not expecting endorsement from any readers. These are my sentiments and I stick by them.

Obvious words, such as:- Washing Machine, Dishwasher, Cooker, Refrigerator etc. Makers names help a lot as well. A good web host is important too.

My web guy (when he is around), keeps mine up there whilst he is ensuring his site keeps a high profile.

The only reason I put up with submitting statements is despite my praise, Servevast were in dissaray over the accounts a while back. Therefore I’ve never got out the habit of sending a gentle official reminder.

I for one tend to pay my bills to suppliers when I get the statement, consequently I am not in a position to refuse the same.

The thing that does seem to happen, despite legislation, is the 60 day regime lot of companies tend to adopt. They send you a statement for your purchases right up to the end of last Month, which was probably only last week, yet only pay you up to the end of the preceding month. When I’ve got 10 mins I’ll interrogate Sage & list my continual slow payers, I know of 2 without looking, but I will look before I name & shame.

It is nice to see credit where credit is due.

MFI, ISDA and D&G are shining examples. AIS needs to look at the rates, but they do support us.

This may be hard to believe, but I must give some credit to Servevast. (Smeg Service). They have come on greatly in the last year. The rapport between us has improved no end. They listen to our needs and support us as much as they can. Not bad when you consider how they have grown and the size of their operation now. Normally as companies get bigger, so do the problems. The down side always used to be payments from them, but as long as you keep up to date with statements, no problem.

There must be others out there who deserve credit, so let’s see it up here, and leave this thread to indicacte who the good guys are.

    Re: Samsung

    This is fun.

We have been 4 days trying to get somewhere on the Samsung site, it is a joke. You can e-mail them and they will only answer up to the stage you are stuck. They will not take you through the set-up. If it wasn’t for the fact I had an ex manager from Endeva in here, we wouldn’t have sussed it.

I will give you rough destructions how to get there.

    1) Get on the site
    2) Language must read English
    3) Drop down to United Kingdom EEC
    4) Enter user ID
    5) Enter your password

You now have partial access, to get into exploded:-

    1) Go into “Itself”
    2) Enter user ID again
    3) Enter password, not the same one as last time. (You have to create a new one, send them your authority request and they will e-mail confirmation 2 days later).
    4) Enter machine type, i.e. W/Machine
    5) Put in W/Mach type, i.e. Drum Front loading
    6) Put in FULL model number
    7) Select section you wish to download, i.e. Explodes and parts list.
    8) Select download path, we are saving on floppy disc so we can access easier next time.

Now you need to place the order.

    1) Go to create P/O
    2) Enter your unique reference number relating to the order.
    3) Enter part numbers.
    4) Verify part numbers
    5) Hit Save
    6) You will get a message that they have the data & they will issue a reference number
    7) Print the order.
    8) Go and sit in a darkened room.

Simple isn’t it. Best of luck, reminds me of those computer games in the 80’s where you are trying to rescue something, and there are loads of tasks, instructions and things you can use to assist. For example to get past the snake play a tune on the flute.

Distriparts do one part No. 50058581005 superseded to 50059587001. According to my link to Distri, they are out of stock. Worth a shot with W/Vac or Connections. Capillary length 2650 mm

As long as these are under the umbrella of D&G then I don’t have a problem, except their website.

With D&G you are guaranteed payment, and if it doesn’t go too smoothly, back to Therese Eyton-Jones at D&G who will arbitrate. I find keeping D&G aware of any issues helps.

We are new to Samsung and to date not impressed. They don’t answer e-mails and it is almost impossible to navigate the website. After years of L.G. it doesn’t come as a culture shock though.

I’m pleased this wasn’t raised last week. If so I may have gone to several pages.

After nearly 3 years of grief and trying to get through, they have finally recognised they owe me money, furthermore they have agreed to settle a long outstanding debt from 2002/2003. Therefore, as I want my money, I’m remaining reticent on this.

What I will say is though, last April they passed the debt I “owed” to a collection agency, despite the fact they owed me more than I owed them. For an easy life and following promises, I paid up. Guess what, they still failed to sort it.

This time they have conra’d my account and the figures reconcile. How I played it was to keep the sum I owed at a higher level than what they owed me, then to keep the debt under control stopped working direct.

I will keep you informed and updated as and when.

The website is poor, but a lot better than the Samsung one, which is a joke. The technical support is o.k. if you can get hold of Peter Butt.

How Richard Dalley ever puts up with them is well beyond me, all I can say Richard, your a better man than I Gungha Din.

What you may be getting is the valve locking out because the thing is trying to prevent an overfill.

Has anyone had a “go” at this thing before you got there? If so take a look at the 2 pressure hoses on the sump. The pink one should be uppermost and feeds the valve lock out. Ensure both the hoses are a good snug fit.

Inside the D/W take off the syphon cap, 1 screw. Pull out both syphons and ensure they are clean I suggest changing the left hand one for part number 50220551001 which is transparent rather than blue. It is longer, carries more water and more likely to evaccuate.

Take a look at the small opaque hose in the base that loops round between the stubs under the syphon container, (About 4″ long). Ensure it lies flat and is clear.

This should sort it, if not a new sump may be the answer, not that bad a job.

If anybody wants a good site created & haven’t got the time or a clue etc. Give this guy a go. Austen Macrow on http://www.austdesign.com he will set it all up for you at a competetive rate. Tell him where you found him, as I may get a pint out of it.

Don’t worry he didn’t do mine, I will take the blame for that one, but I’ve given him the task of doing me a new site completely. If and when it meets approval I’ll let you know.

This really puts you in a shit position. The only thing that may come in is if there is no coverage, you may pick up the odd pay & claim. Can’t see it happening though.

D.Parker cannot approach the service force to cover your area for obvious reasons.

If they came to me I’d tell them to piss off, but I would look at it 1st. just to string the buggers along. I remember the Mastercare days from Nottingham as well. I don’t want to go back to that again, Iv’e still got the stock to prove it.

The only way I will do C/Plan is either direct to DSG, with it all being set up by S.F. Slough or pay & claim through the customer.

    Doesn’t help you though.

    What is all this?

I’ve heard nothing regards any Service Force agents taking a slice of this work. Can you elucidate and give an indication of where this has happened? Do you know terms & conditions and is this via CDSL or S.F. Billing direct to DSG at Hemel Hempsted.

I for one can’t be bothered with it. If it comes back to me via the Service Force route then I will manage the work, but I’m unsure of the legacy I will inherit.

Sorry to be nosey, intrigue has got the better of me.
