How about lowering the roof even more so the Bastard can’t get out of it.
What I cant work out, how do the Germans manage in these cars with their spikes on their helmets, there isn’t a sunroof.

ParticipantRe: Fisher & Paykel
I have spoken to Therese Eyton-Jones at D&G today. She confirms that now Fisher Paykell are owned by Whirlpool they have expressed an interest on taking over the service.
It seems very likely this will happen, but there are still negotiations taking place. However, don’t hold your breath. Some concerns exist regards training, as it will cost a Whirlpool a lot of money.

Here’s an interesting one.
I had a rep from a well known parts supplier in the other day. He’s fairly new and it was his 1st visit. The subject came up regards Coverplan work and he was interested in our operation as we are Service Force agents.
During the chat I mentioned the connection with Stoke on Trent and that there was a rumour a divorce or separation was on the cards. His reply was, “how did you know about that? we were only told officially yesterday”.
Just thought you would all like to know.

Why he doesn’t pay up & shut up, I don’t know.Oh I wonder who that is, he wouldn’t happen to cover a postage stamp sized area in the PE postcodes would he? 😉

I don’t think so, try Lincolnshire, as in Tea Party. Hope he hasn’t got access to this section.

ParticipantI’m the proud owner of a Potterton boiler. The easy route is the one I took 6 years ago & don’t regret it, join up with D&G flying toolbox and book the repair.
might cost something up front, but nowhere near Potterton prices, and you are then covered as long as you stick with it.

ParticipantRe: Comet Service Centres
Comet do their own repairs in some of our area regards Lux group warranty. That is when it suits them, if it is a difficult one they get the customer to phone Lux customer care or if busy they tell the customer to phone us.
Comet service doesn’t cover the whole of our area, due to this I operate a policy that “If you don’t cover ALL of my postcodes, you will not be coverering any of them”. They try to get funny about it but when they moan I suggest they would take on BA & DT postcodes, which they cannot cover.
Regards Insurance, no problem, once you have a rapport with the staff at AON they are usually helpful.

ParticipantThanks so far, have also gleaned information from Forum of Private Business, similar to the Federation of….
I am hoping one or two more put on here what regime they operate regards sick pay, it would be nice to get the general picture.
I’m looking at consolidating sick pay into a pay rise to cover 10 days per year, seems to be approved by the staff.

ParticipantWe could write a book.
Why do they say? “That machine hasn’t been out since it was put in there.” Obvious statement or what.
Why do they insist on carrying out a 100{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} cleaning operation behind the machine just as you are either trying to go round the back looking for a leak? or even worse, just as you have finished ready to put the thing back and want to go on to the next job.
Why do they spend 15 mins telling you in full detail when it is an obvious fault that is looking at you? yet when it sticks or a silly little noise they cannot describe anything.
Why do they describe a noise as, “Like a Whirling Dervish, or going to explode, or say it was indescribable”. Does anyone know what a whirling dervish sounds like? they aren’t indigenous in this area.
Why do they report a fridge/freezer not cold enough? then switch it off & leave the door open for you. No wonder it aint cold enough Missus, someone has switched it off and left the door open.
Why do they fail to put a name on their house? and then tell you when you get there, “Oh nobody can find us, or even worse, I thought the girl on the phone must have known where we are as she didn’t ask”. Another one is a house name in the middle of a road where all the houses are numbered. The customer lives, say between houses 32 & 36 but decides to call it something like “Rivendale”. When challenged, “Oh no we don’t have a number”. So you’re not No. 34 then? They cannot grasp the fact it is easier to look for a number among many other houses that are numbered.
Why do the retired Husbands try and take over the whole running of the house including taking charge when the appliance breaks down? then when asked questions relating to the fault say’s, “Oh I’ll just get the wife, this is her department”
Why do they decide they have to get their car out that you’ve parked in front of just as you are in the middle of a tricky bit?
Why don’t they just put the money in a bag and post it to us, and leave us alone?
Have a good weekend.

ParticipantIt is just that where the manufacturers of W/Machines have been driven to bring down the prices, machines have less weight inside. Therefore they bounce about more on spin, so they are now jumping around so much they are out on the streets.
Can’t work out what make they are though.

DASA – This is the shocker! Sorry people but the DASA logo looks as if it escaped badly scarred from the 1970’s and that’s being kind to, frankly it looks shite. So for £35 I think it’s worth seeing what a whole bunch of graphic artists can do with it to make it more modern and hopefully appealing as well as eye-catching. If no-one goes along with that I’ll stand the £35 out my pocket but I reckon it’s worth a try.
K.It isn’t only the Logo, but there again there is a sea change and at last Dasa may be on the up. It will take a while, but I’m confident. Desparately need new blood though.

It’s just the way they operate and, if you are prepared to live with that then it’s fine, if not steer clear is my advice. But you never know, maybe they have learned along the ways.
K.
Nor piss me off, they are very professional, just a shame they are in bed with that DSG shower.
My thoughts are to play along, see what’s on offer and see what the future may hold. C/Plan was only 10{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} of my operation before it went to GDA so it is no loss. DGS are a shit outfit to the highest order, I will not dispute that & I would not trust them.
Anybody like Ken who was shafted by R.F. & his cronies will know what I mean. We were left high & dry when he passed it all to GDA & I’m convinced that DSG lead to the early demise of Frank Carey and ultimately Philco.
As regards, learned along the ways, no chance. Some of us have long memories and I will make it quite clear if approached by David Parker. I reiterate I won’t throw him out the building but I will make it clear that we owe DSG no favours. I don’t want to go back to a string of same day service calls arriving on the fax as late as 11a.m. sometimes for call in the Middle of Exmoor.

At a recent E/Lux meeting the subject was raised regards Connect being in the repairers market place. The person who chaired this was very concerned regards the potential of Connect and actually saw them as a threat.
Make of that what you wish, but it tells me the likes of D.I.S. L.G.H. and maybe a few others who are disillusioned with their present service partners are looking around. On the strength of that I feel it may be prudent to keep a bit of a rapport with Connect.

ParticipantI thnk it is a case of not being quiet out there as to why there is little happening on here. We all know there are dealings going on and probably leaving them to it, in other words they are managing without our help.
Regards this site, we must get more input and more names into the forums. As well as the lux one, there was another called Techtorque, set up by Andy Warwick of Aztech Services in Fleet Hampshire, it started off with great speed but died on the vine due to lack of support.
