    Re: Evolution

We need to ensure we don’t put the cart before the horse. Set it up, keep it at a small initial level, as enthusiasm and membersip dictates, and let it grow. As it germinates and establishes then you cross the t’s and dot the i’s. I would suggest that once the TA is settled, then you re-visit the AC and address accordingly.

I’m impressed by the input by Carl, however we all know one of the critiscisms UKW gets is the anonymous posters. We know they are no better, but it is a cudgel they beat us with. Therefore what I’m saying is, Carl cannot be high profile on input, yet low profile on identity. I’m sure you don’t need me to remind you of that.

We may as well use this part of the forum to make such discussions, and that way keep Martin out of it. I’ve always said he was a to55er, and now it shows. Note: I apologised following the slagging off I once gave him, albeit was a rather veiled apology. What the hell can you do with him, he has access to all the forums I can access, except this one, as well as the moderators forum. He is out of his depth! Is he going to Sibson?

I’d rather add Alex or Carl, but…

However, if needs must, there’s more than one way to skin a fish.
    K.

Add Alex!! I thought I was already here? As I’ve said, I’m doing my best to keep out of the forefront on the TA thing. Operationally I have something going on regards more work, and at the expense of another service organisation. There are times in business when one has to prrostitute themselves, (No I don’t do blow jobs) and this is one of them. There is a connection between that work and an associate member of DASA (Not Connect). I may have blotted my copybook as it is; but by slagging them off from within, and keeping my head down regards the outside world, I may get away with causing some damage and then evaporate from DASA.

I have said nothing in the general TA sectors as I don’t want to give the wrong impression, and then start a debate that is not appropriate, and could cause differences to appear that do not exist. The last thing you want is a storm in a tea-cup. Bad enough with Martin.

I agree there is a need for a new TA, and an even greater need for recognition. Bear in mind, we are perceived as the new kids on the block and some will look at this in a different manner than intended. Is there a risk we could turn fom poacher to gamekeeper? Some could look at it this way. I know it will work, and by God I want it to work.

    An old saying…

If you are not part of the solution, you must be part of the problem.

In the case of UKW TA, nothing could be more appropriate.

Am I in the AC or not? I’m happy if you would prefer that I take a year out of the AC, and be re-elected once I’m back on stream.

Washdoctor BTW I’ve met, nice guy, bit new at the job but really cares and does his best. Well respected Repair Care agent, always high on their list of good performers. Oh and he’s Welsh! but don’t let that put you off., Martin & R600, I don’t think are candidates.

I don’t want this to drift off subject. However, it had been sussed who Jackal is from his location, and someone innocently answered one of his posts, “Thanks for your help Carl”

Given the past recent events with an existing TA, Who shall remain nameless, it may look like Jackal is out for revenge to some people. I’m sure that is not the case, but give them an inch etc….

The fix is either, bo££ocks to it, go for the jugular and clear the air, or keep it low profile. He’s the best one to decide that.

I can’t get to Sibson, and even if I could I imagine the rooms are now booked. You have my support, and I will come into the TA slowly as a member, not a pioneer. I get fed up with leading from the front sometimes.

    Re: Evolution

I missed this one over the weekend.

At this stage I presume this is a closed forum?

I’m happy to remain part of the A.C. If however, my lack of involvent in the WTA excludes me, than I shall take the hint. Unlike Martin who seems unable to grasp the whole ethos of this. He means well, but doesn’t have a clue. His past is coming back to haunt him.

Couple of small points, Jackal seems to be a good one to be part of this considering his slant on things, and experience. I do feel though that he will need to “Come Out” and change to his real name. A bit like the Baldy Thief, (Bollical Bill the Sailor) changing from Ted.

I have reservations regards one name that has been suggested, related to me being dropped in the do-do with ISDA. He shares the same christian name as the “Groover From Vancouver”. One of a pair, and not Scottish. If he becomes part of the A.C. can you let me know, I shall have to address this post.

Now, the reasons I have not shown too much enthusiasm.

I aint got the time, I’m involved with something on Service Force, as well as Beko. That keeps me busy.

I’m still a member of DASA but they have lost the plot, I shan’t be renewing. If however I get vocal with them, and then become an active member of WTA, it could look like you guys are pulling the rug out from under their feet. It might even look like I was recruited, and we need to keep the damage limitation at a minimum. Despite the fact they damn well deserve it. I can, and have already done a lot of damage from within.

I would like to keep under the radar regards WTA, and will leave it to you guys if I remain in the A.C.

Shirley Ellis me thinks 😀 Greg

You deserve an Ology, possibly a Sadology.

Shirley Ellis from the EP of the “clapping song”. Released as a single in the States in 1965, added to the UK e.p. in 1978. Can’t believe you got that. BTW thanks for the Little Jimmy Dickens tracks.

    Jim.

Think it was a heron. Cirrus Minor from Relics was similar, but not quite so intense.

Whilst we are on about Relics, what about “Careful with that Axe Eugene”

Thankyou Martin regards Little Jimmy Dickens, it was bugging me.

Here is an obscure one…. Martin, you have a challenge!

“Did you ever in your life see a diver kiss his wife whilst the bubbles bounce about above the water”. If anyone can get the artist you are a better man than I Gungha Din.

I’ll leave you with that one.

Aren’t they wonderful, youv’e had the machine out 30 minutes, they sit there and watch you, and as soon as you turn your back they are in there with come caustic chemical nukeing the whole area. Usually the lid is off, youv’e got it plugged in and on test, and all at once wet hands are everywhere.

Worse ones are the ones that wait till you put it back then tell you it is noisy on spin, and you went there for a leak and have just replaced the pump.

“Several species of small furry animals gathered together in a cave and grooving with a pict”. Pink Floyd, Umma Gumma.

    Re: Slowdown in Payments Received

All these months later, and MFI are still on the same rate. Last went up Sept 2004.

Whilst I’m on a service providers bashing exercise….

Our good old friends Servvevast, (Smeg) I’m on £40 per call no matter what, o.k. they will pay me £40 per m/c if I have 2 appliances in the same house/store, and I tend to invoice them on re-calls blaming their lack of training/information. I don’t know how, but I do get away with it.

Point is, this rate was negotiated 3 years ago, and I was on £46 per call before they introduced a contract. I’m wondering if I’m being left behind with them. Might start dropping subtle hints to Sue in a few days.

    Re: MFI

Sent T.B. an abrupt e-mail last week, demanding a rate increase.

Followed it up with a phone call couple of hours later, took him ages to stop laughing. He did say the rate was under revue, but told me not to build my hopes up. They haven’t bothered to recruit a replacement for him which either means he was superflous, they are skint, or don’t give a toss any more. Suspect both of the last 2.

I’m now getting selective with them, they send me all their l.p.g. for the postcodes surrounding my area, I e-mail them straight back.

Ah I can see what happened, you left 😉

Seriously though, I’m ex-South Western Electricity Board, and we used to say S.W.E.B. meant Seven Workers Eight Bosses. That was 25 Years ago. Nothing changes, just in my time The Gas Board as was, was the enemy, shoot on sight. However they did survive.
