Re: Welcome To The War Room

The list at the beginning needs updating.

I can assume we no longer have the company of Niel, Scogs, Phil Kendal and some thief or pirate of the high seas whose name escapes me.

No problem with Bryan, he will keep Mr. P on his guard. However my suggestion of Mark Garner I feel deserves consideration. He comes to every meeting ,and is a stalwart. If the names as above are out, do we now have the room for some of the faithful guys.

Meddle was my first sensible opening to the Floyd, brilliant on vinyl with all the crackles at the start of Echoes. Still got my Goldring Leco GL75 tracscription turntable, haven’t progressed to a USB as per Martin. I must take up the opportunity to see the Aussie Floyd, Martin is always waxing lyrical.

My Father pased away a couple of Months ago and he carefully arranged everything himself, including chosing hyms at a mass etc. The conversation came around at the wake as to what I would have when my turn comes. Someone suggested “Wish You Were Here”. I elected to have “Comfortably Numb” naturally the Live version from Pulse. Strange conversation really, fuelled by Merlot & Pinotage, as personally I feel quite well and thought I was wearing o.k. Seems like my family know something I don’t.

Never mind, I have high hopes.

From a magazine printed in 1954. I don’t think it will ever happen myself.

It seems in some areas they are undertaking the work themselves. The calls are all routed through their own call centre in Spain, then they put them out to whom they feel fit. Looks like it is a recent thing, hasn’t affected us but I know of others that are getting crossover.

I haven’t been approached, but I do know of someone who has.

Wonder if Brandt will do the same?

    Chris.

Did you see the person suspended in the above picture wearing the blue shirt? Was that Martin or Perkin Warbeck? I suppose the steps are to be kicked away any minute now.

Re: Best group/artist of the 70s

Watch your dates guys. Cream cut their last album in October 1968, Both Free & Simon & Garfunkel had their last decent album sales in 1970.

ELO worth a mention, not my thing, but the 1981 album “Time” was a classic. Eagles, real 70’s sound.

I always thought the 70’s was a poor time, until I looked at my Record Collection. Lynyrd Skynyrd, Kate Bush, Wishbone Ash, Floyd (of course), Led Zep, Neil Young, Peter Gabriel & Queen are worth a mention.

Don’t forget there was a lot of the dross like Sweet, Black Lace, and number ones by Clive Dunn & Rolf Harris. Then there were Abba & Elton John who were always there, and it was the likes of those that made me think it was the decade that taste forgot.

Love the title of the new Quo tour, “In search of the Fourth Chord”. At least they agree they have managed with the same 3 since 1968.

Do you know, nobody has mentioned what must be a classic……

One Flew over The Cuckoo’s Nest.

    Several have got close.

Fargo! Number one movie for me.

Followed by Goodfellas, Life of Brian, Sleeper, Blazing Saddles, Italian Job (Michael Caine), The Last Seduction and perhaps Gladiator.

Take a trip into the Rumour Mill and read some of the traffic.

Otherwise Google Vance Miller or Maple Industries, and you may see why there are possible delays on being paid.

Frigidaire are mainly owned by the Electrolux Group.

Most of the products are made by Electrolux, and the rest are Gorenje and badged Frigidaire.

Terry was on-line Weds p.m. He phoned immediately after my post where I was saying I still hadn’t been paid, and I looked in at the time and saw him logged in.

Thursday I was at a meeting all day, but Friday I posted the one saying I had been paid, and mentioned the G.D.H. thing where jobs were closed down yet un-paid being incomplete. Dave B phoned me and quoted bits of that posting, and I know he didn’t get that from Terry J as Terry was at Aintree all day with his missus.

There must be a nark feeding information out on this lot.

We need to feed him some crap to send his head spinning I fancy.

He told me he is registered as DavidB or DaveB, not sure which. He also said Terry Jackson has access from his Powerhouse days, but didn’t know the log-in. I didn’t let on I knew.

He asked me who Ellie was, and I thought she was Helen Robson of S/Power, she did respond to a post as Hel, and showed a great interest when people were looking for agencies. However looking at her profile, she has been a member since Dec-2003, which something that Dave Bernard pointed out to me, may have been a red herring though.

    It was an interesting conversation.
