    Re: comet…again!!!

Anecdotal I know, but I have picked up nothing but good vibes from my Service Force colleagues where they have employed an ex Comet engineer.

I suspect they were very good, and despite the background regards training morale etc were very loyal.

If there was one going in my area when the service went back in the Summer I would have taken one on with no hesitation.

Re Connect, they advised us yesterday morning to put all comet warranty (First year) calls into abeyance, so they are no doubt preparing for the inevitable.

If I recall correctly, when Sovereign went pear-shaped, Connect honoured all completed and invoiced jobs.

Found on Linkedin earlier. So he must have closed that operation as well. Haven’t bothered to research any further.

    Spot on!

I fail to see the point in altering the clocks. Wife comes from a Farming family and one day over the kitchen table I tried to get this across.

Was met with a farming answer.

“Well if they don’t change the clocks, means I have to feed my bullocks in the dark in the morning as well as the morning milking being done in darkness”.

So I suggested “Feed them an hour later”

“Oh no you cannot do that, as they are used to having their feed at the same time every day, same with milking the dairy herd”

“But you ARE feeding them an hour later, as soon as you change the clock”.

“No we are not, we feed them every day at 8-am winter or Summer”

“So you feed them at 8-am in the summer, than after moving YOUR clock on the kitchen wall, you still feed them at 8-o-clock according to your kitchen clock, but according to their body clock, YOU are an hour late.

“No I’m not, I still feed them at 8-am”

“Any way, you don’t like milking cows in the dark in the mornings, what time do you milk them in the afternoons?”

    “Afternoon milking is around 5-pm”

So I had to ask… “Before they alter the clocks, is it dark?”

    “No”

“So after you put the clock back, it is dark in the afternoon milking instead of the morning?”

“Yes, but give it a couple of weeks, and it is dark in the Morning as well”

So what is the bloody point! Leave the clocks alone.

OK In Scotland will be dark until 10 am. but surely they could carry out vial daylight tasks an hour later, or would they have the same argument as the conversation above? No doubt I will get a qualified answer.

Needless to say, I gave up the argument.

Of course it isn’t but he thinks it is.

Your call guys as to what action you take against him, he is not harmless by any means, but I guess would be more fun to tease him along rather that throw him off the scene. Then we could have some sport!

At the end of it all he is the one that will make himself look the tosser to the rest of the world that we all know he is.

Personally I think he can be a troll at times and loves having a bit of sport with everyone.

The one that amused me was asking advice on what tools to take with him for a Bosch repair, and that his multi-meter needed a battery or something. I’m sure it was a wind up, but some kind souls still tried to help him & gave some advice.

At least he “outed” Adrian but he does fire from the hip. I say let him stay as at least it makes the rest of us look sane. Unless of course he goes O.T.T.

    Re: Independent Service In Administration?

    Update.

Had my statement today on what I “owe”

Phoned up Ernst/Young and spoke to a guy who plainly had received some abuse earlier today as he was very nervous to start with.

I told him the figure as on the statement does agree to the penny as per my purchase ledger, and that I had put on Sage each and every ISDAL job number against every one of these invoices to which the part relates.

I also advised that furthermore I have already sent them signed copies of our invoices for every job carried out and each invoice will have the ISDAL job reference as well as the part numbers, so each transaction can be fully tracked & justified.

He felt that If can demonstrate all transactions as I say I can, I should have no problem in off-setting the debt as they owe me a lot more. We shall see, as he may have just been passing the buck. Been promised a follow-up phone call on Monday.

To be honest in these days of electronic job reporting etc the paper trail and hard copy invoices are becoming rare, but in my case, every job sheet became an invoice on Sage so being old fashioned might help soften the blow.

Best of luck everyone, we are all in this together.

    Oscar.

I would presume the amount they are demanding reconciles fully with what is on their sales ledger to you i.e. your purchase ledger. The ISDAL web page re invoices was always pretty accurate, I would suspect therefore they have their figures more or less right.

When MFI went I (along with many others) had letters from a debt collection agency for the same situation. Difference there though they had no invoice details etc they simply took a punt, so I sent them off with a flea in their ear demanding evidence.

Hopefully you will have your invoices for work carried out, along with part numbers and values, and if they correlate to ISDAL jobs, suggest this amount to be contra’d from the amount owed to you.

I have already sent copies to the Administrators of the invoices (signed by the customers) that I am due to be paid, and all as above is clearly shown. Anything that is not included re parts as bought that are not on the jobs as cleared off you will have to pay for.

    Difficult & stressful time.

I am tempted to invoice each & every customer, I did when Powerhouse went & was paid on all of them. In that situation though the appliances were insured. For now I will see what pans out.

Meaning they will use DH to talk former ISDAL agents into joining JTM to increase the skill sets. I get that, and I also get what may happen, he will be “prostituted” and then dumped.

I like old Dave (probably younger than I am) but not enough to take on JTM.

    Re: ISDAL

I gather Hi Sense is the name of the distributors or whatever for Fridgemaster, under control of the Chinese. They have taken on the old IDSA offices in Normanton. From there they will be running logistics and delivery of their specific appliances.

Julian & Richard Dalley are working out of there.

Dave Highton as you say has been approached by Paul Feek. So he looks like he will stay in the trade as it were. I would expect there to be disharmony with regards Mr Greenberg however.

    Re: ISDAL

So they sideline Paul Greenberg, then use Dave Highton to do more or less the same role? How does that work?

If I get 5 mins later I’ll try & find out more.

    Re: Our Adrian

Well he posted lots of rants on the Repaircare engineers forums, almost answering every post with his vitriol.

He kept that up all evening on Weds 21st, and they were all removed next day before 9 am. However there were loads of people logged in at 8.am that Thurs morning prior to the removal of posts.

One of his posts related to Caple where there was a meeting between them, Welsh Twat and apparently according to this particular post our esteemed leader (Ken) was present. He wrote that the representative from Caple felt R/Care were ripping them off, and quoted prices of parts etc. Seems like Maurice Lay distribution are aware of this posting, and are out for blood.

Moving on NESN paid Welsh Twat £4k in error, (silly buggers) and they cannot get it back. They have been round and paid a visit but he done a disappearing act.

Now if the ISDA scenario results in more debt for his operation, then I can smile a little bit, but won’t be enough to cover the loss on the ISDAL account though.

    Re: More administrators???

Oh dear. I had heard something about the one & only company I can think of to whom this may refer. I sort of dismissed it as came from outside the repair network.

Hope not true, otherwise another MFI scenario and my bottom line being affected yet again.

    Bit of a spoonerism there.

For now I will keep it along with subsequent traffic on my lap-top in word format.

However I have been told this morning that Repaircare do not want any of their network to be associated with Welsh idiot in regards to FME.Com
