    Had the same fault with one of these & new pcb cured the fault.

    could be tacho magnet come un-srewed from motor shaft.

    Sorry for the delay BSH Man – i have been a bit poorly !! YES they do pre heat the oven…..

    these motors sometimes wont run properly without the belt on – they will do about 2 revolutions & then stop, this may not be connected to this fault but its worth remembering…………..
