Thanks for that Dave. I assume you mean changing the dispenser hose rather than the dispenser?

    Re: Servicenet

Hi Boselecta.. Good Point. My company only got caught out for one job fortunately, by one of my guys when i was on Holiday. It was only for about £80, but Ive seen some of the debts they have run up with other companies and as you well know, they run in to thousands of pounds. For the sole trader or small company I can only imagine that this places a terrible strain on them, its awful. But point taken and should they decide ever to phone me again, then I will take your advice and warn the customers. On that note, can anyone advise of the best action for customers to take If they have been scammed by these crooks? (Of course, If they do actually manage to get engineers to go out and repair these broken appliances, then the customer’s contract has actually been completed. All be it at a much higher rate than genuine repairers would repair it for). And then its just the trusty engineer that falls foul.

    Re: Servicenet

Im not saying that you actually contact the customer.. just plead dumb and tell them to email you the job sheet and then dont act on it.. There is no binding contract unless you actually enter into terms with them and besides, “verbal contracts” seem to mean NOTHING to this company. How many contracts have they let slip by failing to pay.. let the company do a bit of chasing for a change instead of engineers spending hours chasing non payments. It really is about time engineers started fighting back.. Unless we actually start doing something radical to stop these tin pot companies, then people like you and I will always be “The Victim”..

    Re: Servicenet

Isnt it about time we just started accepting the jobs from these cowboys and then simply not turning up..?? Surely, its no detriment to the poor unsuspecting customer anyway as they have already taken their money upfront.. But at least they may get the message that as engineers we are just fed up of their antics and hopefully the lying scum bags at the call centres will get plenty of grief from the customers who have already paid them good money. Perhaps then, the authorities might just take this outfit seriously and shut them down for good… We have all seen the damage this company has done and the sums of money they have taken from hard working engineers. How long does it have to go on before these crooks are locked up. I was taken for a measly £60 but I have seen some companies, including HMRC that the debts run into thousands of pounds. How long do you think it would take for HMRC to chase down those of us that do actually pay our taxes? RANT OVER…….!!! Sorry..

Re: Smeg dual fuel oven SPA 42016?? Natural gas jet conversi

Hi. Thanks for your reply..! Apologies, I didnt quite understand the 2nd reply!! I presume we will need to order Natural Gas jets and replace the gas hose and have the airation altered? I dont suppose you would have the part numbers for the jets.

    Many thanks

Thanks for the confirmation of the model. Atleast I now know what model it is if I need to contact Smeg. The parts info in the parts manual may be useful at some stage. Thanks again

Re: Domestic appliances in “Commercial properties”

Thanks Guys for your input. The company I deal with is a large organisation for Autistic adults and as Wilf explains, the thinking is so that the residents in some ways can learn to live independently. In some severe cases, this is not possible and these residents have much more one on one care, so do have commercial machines with Sluice facilities. My concern was, that if new legislation has come into force whereby domestic machines are not allowed to be used in commercial properties(as some of the commercial machine retailers appear to be portraying) then obviously these machines would have to be changed.
From your input, it would appear that these rumours are not true, but I will check with my local authority to see their take on it.
Thanks again guys for your invaluable input.

Thanks Allsorts.. I will have a look at the harness. Strangely enough, I have just disconected the thermistor to see if that brings up a fault on the wash cycle and clearly it does so I suspect this is the intermittent problem. Thanks for your input.. Andystu

Just an update on these machines chaps. It was as suggested by the other posters, dryer heating elements.. The same fault on all four machines, all brand new and never used. Ive got four more to go look at tomorrow, with similar symptoms…! Fingers crossed..

    😛 😆
Certainly looks like one to watch out for.

Thanks again guys for your invaluable input..! Saved many hours of headscratching

Thanks guys for your input. Certainly sounds as though, dryer heaters are a real concern on these, so a good to start.

Thanks again. I’ll update the forum when I eventually get one of the machines out of it’s little hole.
