Gordy. Theres a good chance it has burnt out the main Board, I believe this are known as the series 4 board or series 8 Board, at the back. The series 8 usually has a big heat sink on it. Possible that it would show burnt tracks on the board, but not always the case. Try these guys http://www.emwelec.co.uk or you can phone them on 01159652118, tell them Andy Stuart sent you and ask for Lee or Tony. They are normally pretty good at diagnosing the fault if you tell them which lights are flashing and will also be able to supply an exchange if needs be.
Hope this helps,Andystu

ParticipantRe: Zanussi ZWF 1221 Moulded drum. Bearings gone.
Apologies also Phidom, if my reply sounded a little snappy 😆 . Your first reply did sound rather critical and that is not what I’m used to from this forum. Having said that, your explanation has clarified the point and I also take your point that we need to be more vigilant on the so-called reliable brands.. Certainly if this is the way forward wiith Zanussi/Electrolux group, then I will be looking elsewhere for reliable recomendations. Regards. Andystu

Thanks Chris211 for your reply. It was atleast useful. I cant believe the drum assemblies are that much though. !!! Wont be selling anymore of those.

ParticipantRe: Zanussi ZWF 1221 Moulded drum. Bearings gone.
Sorry, sometimes we make mistakes and we sell what has previously been a good machine. I dont lift the lids off every machine I buy and for your information, the ZWF1421 previously had the split drum, which zanussi had used for some years. Like you phildom, we strive for perfection, but sometimes we get it wrong. Must try harder next time..

ParticipantRe: Indesit WIXL 143 Door frame.
You’re not wrong there mate!!!, Espescially as just googleing WIXL 143 it comes up with a complete machine for £193. Throw away society or what?. With Indesit call out charge being bets part of £90 no doubt and complete door retail @ £35!!! New door at £125 or new machine at £195. NO BRAINER>>
Cheers anyway, figured as much!!. No doubt Hotpoint will be much the same I suppose.Andy Stu

Without stating the obvious.!!, did you put the old interlock back on or leave the new one on?. These interlocks as you probably know are great for blowing the boards, so always prudent to fit new interlock anyway.

ParticipantRe: HOTPOINT WF540G
If customer complains of cycle not finishing and clothes coming out warm after manually spinning, it would suggest that heater is possibly working but maybe not filling for rinses. Not sure whether this machine has hot & cold fill or just cold, but it will certainly have atleast 2 solenoids, maybe worth checking both of them are working.

ParticipantRe: Ariston A1636s Only doing slow spin.
Hi Mike, thanks for your input. I suppose it certainly a possibility espescially with it atleast doing a slow spin. I’ve asked him to check the Pot, and he says it certainly moves through each stage, not sure exactly how the pots work on these, does it change resistance or make different contacts.

ParticipantRe: Hotpoint W865 -c On fault
Thanks for your feedback. It definately looks like -c On but I suppose 1 of the digits could be missing. I have noticed that this only appears to happen when the start button sticks so perhaps it is in test mode and perhaps the start button is stopping depressed. I will check symptoms of test code and remind myself how it is initiated….. Cant remember now.
Thanks again,

ParticipantRe: Zanussi FJ1354s start/pause light flashing!! Help.
Hi Martin,
Ye! Im thinking that something has been dislodged somewhere, to much of a coincidence to be anything else. I’m going to do a re-check on all connections, but as you are aware, you dont need to go anywhere near pcb connections when taking out drum. If you could email me the diagnostics programme, that would be a great help. e,mail is info@stuartdomestics.co.uk or andystuart@fsmail.net.
Thanks again for your input.
