No no you totally miss understood what i meant. I’m not saying just wright it off!! I’m saying it to try and help maybe what i observed may help it could be something silly like water on the wiring harness or something.Believe me i am the last person to wright a machine off. I went back and forth to that job 3/4 times (30 odd miles away) with different parts , motor and pcb’s x2 .The original fault was it was dead as a dodo, typical fault so replaced Pcb, but all it would do then was go up straight into a spin ,acting like the taco on the motor was gone.So sent for motor, motor came fitted it still same, assumed the original motor had damaged new pcb, ordered new pcb, fitted same thing .Then when that didn’t work i looked rally hard (there is no removable back panel so couldn’t see very well) there was water mark down the back from the barings and onto the motor. Believe me i tried my best with that machine and it really bugs me that i never found the fault.Because in the end it would of been new motor , new pcb, new drum, new…… wiring harness??!!plus the time the machine was out of action, so in the end i decided best thing was an exchange.Call me a bad engineer if you like but i believe it was the correct decision in the end .It is a very strange fault that in the end beat me and In all fairness its the only thing i’ve ever written off for Amica.

Did you go and look at the w/m after because the rubber bits could be bits of door gasket or drum from a coin or something going round in the drum…..? 😐

I had this on one a few months back changed motor and pcb to no avail. What i did notice though was a water mark from the bearings and down onto the motor. so was an exchange in the end.The only thing i could think was wiring harness? 😐

Yea that looks about right, just follow the usual rules like when hitting out the old bearings and putting the new ones in be “gentle” as you can don’t scar the aluminium housing . And I always use debore glue to put the bearing seal back in and a little wd40 to help them slide in.and also I use silicone to re seal the two halfs of the drum (but I’m sure you know that) 😉 Let me know how you get on its dead.easy just follow your nose for the strip down. Once your in its fine. Hth DJ

Lol your quite right 😳 a couple of days off the job and I’m forgetting everything 😉 also I just don’t find it cost effective too change bearings in modern machines either because they are too expensive or a sealed drum . People just wont pay that much when they can put it towards a new machine IMO ofcourse 😉

In my opinion its so they price everyone else out of the job,so either they get the service work or they hope that the customer will just go out and buy their brand again.its a sad thing the way its going. 🙁 I can’t even remember the last time I did a proper set of bearings (ie not a replacement drum/back half) must of been nearly a year ago.I’vegot a couple of old customers that love there old hotpoint first editions wm62’s which I do every few years. They use them as 2nd machines for dog and horse blankets etc. But that’s life I guess gotta go with the flow .

My god whirlpool really are taking :eeek: the biscuit on there spares now! Personally i like LG don’t work on an awful lot of them and those i do work on are either small faults the bearings have gone which are replacable or the pcbs gone which is a bit of a headache as they can be quite expensive but imo. Good machines. HTH DJ

Yup, just be careful not to damage the rubber hose which it clamps and.you will be fine. Also don’t be too shocked if you don’t find anything in there as the impellours do go on these dw’s but by the look of the you tube clip it does look and sound like something is in there. Hth DJ 😀

I usually put a flat had screw driver into the join and give it a twist. either that or a pair of side cutters and grab th join and twist 😉 . Also ken the link for the clips didn’t work for me…..

I have heard you can just add it to the tank in a 75{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} diesel to 25{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} oil is that correct?
