    Re: Hotpoint WF541 Error?

    Cheers Jim

Are the parts guarenteed for 5 years on this machine? The machine is only just over 12 months old, the householder has no details for the machine as he bought it from the previous home owner when she purchased the house.

This is going to sound odd but I just looked at my order on connect-distribution and it appears that there could be a mix up with the board that has been ordered. Would I be right in saying that if MERC00143056 was placed in this machine instead of MERC00108933 the error might arise?

I suspect that the wrong board has been sent to me and I never thought to check.

You’re advice would be appreciated before I contact them

    Jim

Apologies for the delay in replying to you. Both myself and my customer have had a couple of days off (not together though!).

The PCB I replaced was the one at the base of the machine. The only other information that I can really provide is that the customer replaced the blown fuse in the plug about 3 times before calling for assistance.

As a relitive newby I’m not sure that this would have any bearing on the problem.

If it helps the LEDS are as follows:

LEDs on the left of the machine, 1 top, 5 bottom
    LED 1 ‘on’
    LED 2 ‘on’
    LED 3 ‘on’
    LED 4 ‘on’
    LED 5 ‘off’

LEDs to the right, horiztonal, left to right
    LED 1 ‘off’
    LED 2 ‘off’
    LED 3 ‘off’
    LED 4 ‘off’
    LED 5 ‘on’

    On/Off LED ‘on’

    Once again thanks everybody,

    Re: Hotpoint WF541 Error?

    Guys,

Went back to the property yesterday to take another look at the machine. I checked all the connections and did a general checkover the condition of all the components including the wiring, everything seems tpo be in excellent condition (the machine is only 1 year and 13 days old).

I removed the module and replaced it and got the same error message.

I did however notice that during the initial switching of the power (prior to the error message occuring) the following occurred:

    Wash Enhance LED ‘on’
    Reduced Creases LED ‘on’
    Rinse Hold LED ‘on’
    Min Load LED ‘on’
    Extra rinse LED ‘off’

    Door Locked LED ‘off’
    Prewash LED ‘off’
    Wash LED ‘off’
    Rinse & Spin LED ‘off’
    Final Spin LED ‘on’

    On/Off LED ‘on’

These LEDS light up for about 10-15 seconds before the machine shuts itself off. Only when pressing the On/Off button again do I then get the Communication Error message.

Any additional advice would be really appreciated,

    Mark

    Thanks Brian

It looks like there are small LEDs making up a display, there seems to be nothing coming from these at all.

As mentioned the imer (slave) is buzzing. Would that lead you to believe that may be to blame?
