Re: Your opinions on a small claim….

    Guys,

I appreciate your comments, apologies for the delay in replying. I’ve been to court on a couple of cases in the past and won, I do agree the amount is small but should this matter?

I’ve added the interest and court costs to date, if I win I will also ask for compensation for the loss of earnings, I’ve been lucky enough to get this in the past. While I agree that it turned into an expensive job they were aware of my rates and at the end of the day I haven’t conned them, I did an honest job.

My only worry is that the court will think that I am wasting their time on the matter, why should I let a customer dictate how much a job should cost?

Once again I appreciate your feedback.

    Re: AEG D4101 Oven

Ah that would explain it then.

Nice to see I wasted going on an hour testing everything 🙂

I’m going to have to go back and actually see things for myself. The customer is saying it takes over half an hour to get the oven to temp (200oC) either there is something wrong or she’s not using it correctly!

Thanks for the advice, it’s appreciated!

    Re: AEG D4101 Oven

    Thanks Spin Doctor,

The element in question is the base one on the lower oven, the other two appear to be working as expected.

Apologies I should have given the additional information in my first post:

Product and serial numbers are 944171309 and 5250005.

    Thanks for the reply Jim,

From my experience the front of the drum sits nicely where it should, the bearing pads are seated correctly and when the drum is horiztonal it fits perfecty, however it appears that it doesn’t seat properly to the rear.I was hoping the manual may give me a photo of what I should be looking for in terms of the back bearing.

Sorry if that doesn’t answer your question,

Cheers for all the help guys.

Unfortunately one of the connectors popped off when I was trying to hook it out. Looks like I might have to use a hole saw to carefully cut a small hole in the back of the unit. It can’t possibly be worth stripping the machine just to get to it 🙁

    Re: Hoover H130E

    Cheers guys,

I wasn’t sure that the interlock would be to blame.

Martin, as you suggested the first option button and first led are both lit. Could the interlock have caused the problem? By this I mean if it has damaged the board and the machine is repaired will I need to replace the interlock or might it have just been a board fault? (I hope that made sense)

As a relative newbie can you confirm whether I can check to see whether it is the triac?

The one flash (in 15 seconds) occurred even when the door was not pushed shut, does this make it being the board more probable?

    Many thanks guys,

    Thanks Martin,

I appreciate the reply, I’ll check the pipework when I return.

I know that the element is functional, I’ve checked it for cintinuity and by the face that the machine does wash the dishes, however I’m not too sure as to how I check that it turns on when it should, how would I check this?

Apologies I’m a reliteve newcomer to appliances.

Re: Whirlpool AWG349/3 program selector fault?

    Chris,

Thanks for the info it was gtreat, however I’m still no closer to sorting the problem. I worked through the fault finding without much luck, I thought everything pointed to the main card.

Having called QER today they inform me that this is not a board they can test thoroughly. He suggested either the interlock or the motor might be at fault.

I’m not sure how you guys see it, I’ve been to the property twice now and don’t want to turn up again without having a good chance of fixing it. Any other pointers would be really appreciated. In case it makes a difference I recall that even with the board out the program dial on the board did the same thing. Not sure if this assists at all.

    Yours

    Thanks Chris,

I’ll get back to you regarding the CDA machine!

You couldn’t tell me where these brushes are available. I only have an account with Connect and have not been able to locate them on there! Any idea of other suppliers who’d get them to me asap?
