[TD]Good afternoon,My name is Spike Patching and I’m the Managing Director of Service Site Domestic Appliances (Service Site LTD).
I am interested in assigning some of our appliance repair jobs to You so I’d like to understand the appliances you can repair and the areas you cover. We receive many appliance repair requests each day from our customers in Nottingham and would require repairs to be carried out almost every day.
Given the current situation with COVID-19, we need extra support to attend all of our repair requests in existing locations, and we are also looking to extend over engineer coverage into new areas. Although we need extra support during this difficult time, please rest assured that we will be looking to continue a partnership for many years to come if we can build a good working relationship together.
We are looking for sub-contractors that can adhere to the Public Health England guidelines for social distancing during repair visits. We will provide you with an optional contactless payment mechanism for your mobile device via our job portal.
To progress, I need a little information about the appliances you can repair and the postcodes/areas you cover etc. This will allow our system to assign the correct repair jobs.
Please use the following link to complete the form:
https://servicesite.typeform.com/to/RPYcUKIf you would prefer to speak with someone, ether myself or one of my team can take this information by telephone. Please call 020 3600 0933 and ask to speak with our Engineer Team, and please quote your company name (this is important!). If we are unavailable, one of the team will call you straight back.
I’m sure you will have some questions at this stage, so I have also included answers to Frequently Asked Questions at the bottom of this email. These are based on the questions I am most often asked by new repairers. Please feel free to reply to this email with any other questions you may have, or give me a call on the number above.
Once completed we will reach out to you and discuss the next steps so we can progress to job assignment.
I look forward to hearing from you soon.
Warm regards,
Spike PatchingManaging Director

ParticipantDoor lock was my favoured route. I’ve took the main PCB apart and re-soldered any iffy joints, will do the same for the motor board and test.
If that fails will try a door lock. Thanks for the help, appreciated!

ParticipantThe LCD display comes on, I can change programs, but I can’t open the door or start a program.
If I try I get the relay click and the internal ‘clunk’ as described earlier.
I’ve tried getting into the service menu and even tried doing a full reset but none of that works.bagman
ParticipantYes it shuts down, I have to press the on/off button to power it up again. After that I can’t get it to do anything until a day or two later and then it seems to work fine. Sometimes the customer can get a couple of washes out of it before it does it again.
If it is the 3 phase board, would that be a motor and board swap? If not how do I find out which?

ParticipantI’ve been left a message by Charlie Draycott asking if I want to do work for them.
It’s one of those where I’m not bothered at the moment, but will I regret it when the phone goes quiet…?bagman
ParticipantRe: Amazon Installations?
Have you seen the quality of those installations?
I have and they are shocking! Also, if they are anything but straightforward then they walk away from it.
Not much competition in my opinion.bagman

When you hear that some engineers are willing to repair machines at £20 a pop, you can understand why WP’s get away with what they do.bagman
ParticipantRe: Bosch dishwasher leaking
Once it’s past the guarantee period Bosch aren’t interested.
I’ve had a couple just inside the guarantee that they were reluctant to replace but they eventually did.
I’ve stopped selling the plastic base ones now because of this issue, though I suspect that they may have (hopefully) resolved it by now.bagman

Whoever fitted that dishwasher needs a bollocking!
Shocking job!

Had one yesterday… we’ve all had this type I suspect.
Single oven fan element required… ‘how much? Can’t you do it any cheaper!’
Not really as I’m fitting gen spare and I’m offering better guarantee than the manufacturers as well (6 months). Off she goes to phone the husband, I’m hanging around whilst they decide what to do. Eventually she comes back and say to go ahead.
Halfway through I get a ‘Oh, by the way, while you’re here can you look at the tumble dryer?’
Ok love just let me finish this first..
‘Oh and the washer is playing up a bit as well’
Right, ok…. I finish up and BER the TD (PCB dead) and find nothing wrong with the washer, I give her the bill and then I get this..
‘Right, I’ll just phone my husband, he’ll come home and pay you. He’ll only be about 30 minutes’
Really? Are you fecking kidding me? Fortunately I’ve seen this before so I take a deep breath and tell her, that’s fine love, it’s my last job (it wasn’t) so I’ll just hang around. I’ve got a book on my phone that I can read while I wait.
Five minutes and one chapter later..
‘Oh look, I’ve found some money in my kids money box, I’ll pay you from that’Yeah right…

Hi, bloody drum refused to come out without a fight and subsequently the shaft bolt got slightly damaged.
I’ve searched on the shop for one (item 335, part no. 8901052) but got no results.Does anyone have one spare?
Thanks again.
