Phoned Zanussi and got through to a service centre who e-mailed the top man they have agreed to repair the machine but will not pay the engineers fee which I have been told is £60 (whatever the fault) so not a bad outcome apart from the fact my wife could not do without a washer so we went out and bought a new washer only to get home and receive the phone call a few hours later. But all is not lost as my son is buying a new house and has not got a washer so he can have it.

    Re: Zanussi drum motor

it is a ZWH7160P AND IT IS NO WIND UP THE MACHINE HAS BEEN GETTING LOUDER DURING SPIN CYCLE RECENTLY BUT DECIDED TO LEAVE IT UNTIL I HAD TIME BUT THE OTHER DAY IT MADE A BIG LOUD NOISE AND THE ELECTRICITY TRIPPED. I TOOK OFF THE BACK PANEL AND COULD SEE THE MOTOR HANGING DOWN WITH THE BELT OFF WHEN I DRAGGED THE MACHINE OUT I COULD SEE TWO OF THE SECURING BOLTS ON THE FLOOR. I FITTED THE BELT AND MOTOR BACK ON BUT NOW IT WONT FILL I THINK ITS CAUSED AN ELECTRICAL FAULT IN THE CIRCUIT BOARD BUT WAS WONDERING IF ZANUSSI WOULD STILL BE LIABLE.

    Re: Oven not heating up.

The oven element was checked, and the neon temp light is on but oven is cold the temp light goes on and off when grill is selected, so believe this would rule out the thermostst.

Thanks will try the condenser as I do not have a meter to test and is probably the easier option.

Hi Bazza looks like my household likes these element faults, Is this an easy task to get the element tested, or if the dryer condenser is blocked is this an easy thing to spot and dismantle as unlike my cooker fault I have never stripped down a washer/dryer.

Hi Bazza just fitted the new element is thinner than the old one not sure if that has any significance but seems to be working ok thanks for your advice.

Hi Bazza between live and earth he was getting 500k ressistance but cannot remember the element ressistance, he was expecting at least 1 ohm perhaps we are getting the readings mixed up or I did not write it down correctly. I think I will bite the bullet and order a new element.

Hi Bazza my mate in work checked out the element which had a reading of 500k ? he said he was not sure what the reading should be, he expected it to be higher. Any idea of how I can find what the correct ressistance reading should be. The element looks in good nick with no external signs of any faults. the cooker in question is a Diplomat ADP3310.

Ok thanks for that will ask the electrician in work to see if he can check it out for me, but what you are saying makes sense thanks for that.
