ParticipantRe: SMEG side panel removal
Thank you. I’m undoing every screw in site at the moment so the diagram is helpful. If I discover how it’s done I’ll post it back here

ParticipantRe: SMEG side panel removal
I’ve taken off the screws at the back, but they won’t slide forward as it is blocked by the metal moulding which runs round the hinge holes and all the way up the sides to under the control panel.
It looks as if the whole of the front of the oven needs to come off! Surely that can’t be right?

ParticipantRe: Leaking Smeg door
Thanks -I’ll have a look at that. I’ve had the front of the door off and it looks like it’s leaking past the little grey plastic strips that push into the bottom of the door frame.
Is the best way to check the water level simply opening the door mid wash cycle?

So I’ve changed the seal but it’s still leaking. The water drips of the bottom left hand hinge.
The water levels seem OK inside, so not overfilling. The bottom spray arm is metal so no splits there. The upper one seems OK, but it has got a curved notch in one end. Is that supposed to be there, does anyone know?
thanks

ParticipantRe: Water pooling in freezer – but where’s the drain?
So – I have successfully unblocked the drain hole
BUT – a couple of days later it’s frozen up again, and sheet ice is on the freezer floor. So I repeat unblocking…and it freezes up again in a couple of days.
What next – being an LG, is it worth repairing? Or time for new one? And is frost free best avoided?

ParticipantRe: ISE10 installation
OK – that makes sense. I was just wondering whether they could do the install, test and demo, or if they just attached the hose and were away

ParticipantRe: Bosch WFF2000 multiple issues
Thanks Paul
It just overflowed on a 60 degree wash on first fill – it just didn’t stop coming in. There is a pressure switch, but this didn’t kick in at all. In fact, the level in the pressure chamber never rose at all.

ParticipantRe: Bosch WFF2000 multiple issues
I’ve cleaned the pressure switch chamber and the waste chamber, whisch has stopped it overflowing out of the drawer!
But the problem seems to be that the machine just keeps taking in water on the final rinse. Only stopping the feed pipe cures it. If you turn off the power, it still takes on water. This is only happening on the final rinse bit – the rest of the programme runs fine
thanks

ParticipantRe: Water pooling in freezer – but where’s the drain?
It turns out that the stuff melted into the drain hole is the black thick insulating tape which should cover a copper pipe which enters into the freezer from the top. This has obviously got so hot it’s melted it.
Does this mean the freezer is kaput, if it is getting so hot it melts it’s own components? I’m not sure if I can re-assemble without this insulation present

ParticipantRe: Water pooling in freezer – but where’s the drain?
Thanks Spimps – I’ve got that off now, plus another plastic shield with the fan in. It’s very iced up so I’m working away with the hair dryer.
There seems to be a bog blob of some sort of sticky black stuff in the top left which appears to have melted over the fins and pipes of the condenser. Is that normal or ominous?
Edit: I’ve just discovered the drain hole is clogged with this melted sticky black stuff – it’s like a sort of sealant which has obviously melted and fallen into the drain hole.

ParticipantRe: what’s this part called?
Thanks. It’s the hose that goes in the back of it – it’s leaking a bit. Full of fatty debris, too.

ParticipantRe: Smeg 612 ss leaking underneath
thanks Penguin – I’ve looked at the matrix and it seems OK. I’ve found a lot of dried gunk and a bit of moisture behind this round thing with the hoses going in. Can you tell me what it is, and whether they are known to leak?

thanks

Is this the fill matrix?
