ParticipantRe: How long is the guarantee
Well ive removed the back cover and fly wheel and drilled a hole to the bearings, from this hole ive attached a grease nipple and firred in the grease, not quite a fix but might help it last a little longer… other than this im bypassing the door lock , putting it on full spin and lobbing in my 8kg cannonball… got to get some enjoyment

Never say never but I suspect it will be like cracking an egg then trying to stick it back together again. 🙁Couldn’t have put it better ill post back tomorrow with some pics … just curious to see if its a standard 35mm bearing ? Replacement was ordered earlier so tomorrow its time to start the petro hammer and bring out the destructive sides in me! b3

Im going investigate one of these sealed drums further, im gonna split the seam and pry open the tub and try and replace the bearing for experimental purposes.
Not to worried about resealing it for water as it wont be used after obviously, but I do want to dig further.
I wanted to do this with my old one but time wasn’t on my side.Anybody else tried this or even attempted? b3

ParticipantRe: Hotpoint WF340 No Pump
Yes its done for free and all spares are paid for by who that machine belongs to … and yes I do trudge the machines back and forth and yes I have a job, and yes I will be seeking advise on public liability so what’s the problem here guys, .. Is it wrong and unbelievable to do a favour for someone and help for free in your own spare time in a job I’ve always enjoyed , no it isn’t … justifying yourself on a forum now that’s unbelievable .

I accept all your concerns over safety and am aware of the outcome of meddling with these machines as water and electricity don’t mix!
All work I offer to take on is for free so no undercutting is taking place ,i don’t advertise nor look for work in this field and all jobs taken on are from family and friends knowing my outdated skills.
All testing is done at my own home where I can maintain the safety at all times ,the machines i fix are earth and insulation checked before there returned and run through all cycles for 24 hours if required before there returned, and I myself reconnect the appliance and stay with it until im comfortable to leave.
Quick overview
I left school in 88 and went to college for 2 years doing A.V repair/installation then working for radio rentals for 3 years , back to college to learn white goods, Consumer Electrical and Electronic Servicing part 1,2&3 was the coarse taken , then worked in a white goods shop in the background mainly doing the bearing jobs, Packed all that in by late 90’s to go into the building trade (bricky) self-employed until present .Im sure a refresher coarse would be all I need to bring me all upto date as I have always tinkered and never really put it down, that’s what made me find this great site.
Having said that I sourced my fault with a poor dryjoint from the relay

No my friend .. I get asked by a lot of people for help as I’ve always messed with washing machines/dryers for friends and family and words travel fast… I’m no engineer but do have a general understanding of what’s going on and how things work always with safety in mind, always enjoying stripping and getting it working again and helping people who would normally struggle. But now in struggling !
Hope you understand .B3
