Thanks for the reply … im referring to the level we see often when the door has been opened during a wash … I know its only a guestimate but I definitely noticed the water level was low when the problem first arose , after a clear out of all the pipework/filters the level was as normal it just didn’t go into the wash after filling which lead me onto the cap and so on.
Today I’ve checked the loom and all checked out (continuity) , removed the water sensor wheel and connected a LED and 1.5v battery with a couple of wires to find the wheel makes a contact every 90 degrees of rotation .. if this checks out with you professionals im lost where to go next ?
Maybe low water pressure not spinning the wheel at any constant level for a fixed duration of time , or maybe disconnect the water wheel and see if it errors or overfills or see if it fills to same level without it fitted (Timed out) then obviously it need replacing
P.S.
Need to get it fixed soon as the missus is doing all the washing up because my hands are covered in plasters from the cuts !big3card

In the dishwasher its a 5uf 240v cap and only have and 8uf to hand … Maplin are out till Monday so would this be safe to just try it out? The cap is known to be working from my spare working tumble dryer.

The very bottom of the drum were the paddles attach ? Maybe 5 mm deep is visible in the drum itself then it continues into the wash cycle with out loosing in anymore? On a rinse it easily reaches the bottom of the door glass .

I fully understand your point on the water level but this isn’t barely making the rim of the drum (empty), when pumping out ive just measured 8 pints from an estimated 3-4 in the first post but this isnt enough clearly … all pipes are clear and flushed clean and the heater works as should but definatly not enough water as its not even dissolving the powder

Sometimes getting them back in is as hard as getting them out … give it a crack from the centre to ensure it all the way down, this should give you the clearance when reseating

ParticipantRe: Hotpoint WD 645 Various errors
just getting the f11 error now, with it emptying … f11 is a none activated drain pump but this one is on (activated) so wouldn’t this point to a dodgy pressure switch or am I just chasing my own tail!
