It has a good chance that the insulation has broken down on the element and thats causing it to trip your electrics.

    Good luck BigCol.

    Re: White Knight Sensordry Compact

They do get hot as the heater is close to the panel. I would check for blockages though make sure there’s plenty of air coming out of the exhaust hose and that if the hose goes through the wall make sure the vent isn’t blocked or stuck closed.

    Good luck BigCol.

Re: Hotpoint – Old Please help

Had a look on the web but i can’t find a free service manual sorry. The fault sounds like a possible broken wire to the thermistor or a faulty thermistor. If memory serves me correct there are 2 types but i can only find the later type but looks like it comes with the new connections to make it fit. I can’t remember the ohms that you should get through it so someone else with a better memory than me mite be able to help. Thermistor part no. HPT169430 will cost about 30 quid. Hotpoints are also known for faulty timers so check for burnt connections.

    Good luck BigCol.

It’s a 5.5mm head on the screws that hold the carbons in place. The sound you can hear is an arcing from the worn carbons where they touch the motor armature.

    Good luck.

    Re: Zanussi WJS 1265W Question

Just looks like carbon dust and not blown. I would suggest you look at the motor brushes befor you purchase a PCB as they are prob worn out and that would cause the E52 error. The fault says no tacho signal to the PCB just no motor action in other words. But while you have the PCB off have a look at the solder for cracking or burnt known as a dry joint.

    Hope this has helped.

How is it wrong captaincaveman i said to clean it 1st as well and if that didnt work to replace the interface PCB i’ve been to loads of these over the years and cleaned the connections on the interface PCB and most of the time they have come back in within a short time resulting in the replacement of the interface PCB. Don’t forget the reported error was E90 thats a consumer error code not the actual 1. The 1 in the diagnostics could easy be any of the E90’s codes.

If its flashing twice that means there’s a possible blockage, the pump or the main PCB could have failed. If the pump looks water damaged and burnt out its prob blown the main PCB as well.

Hope you manage to repair it.

Re: Rangemaster platewarmer not getting hot

This is a common fault. Rangemaster have now changed the design of the plate warmer. The original had 2 blobs of solder holding the wires to the plate, these become detached from the plate so it wont heat. If you look at the hotplate from the top by where it says HOT there are 3 round dots they should be orange but if 1 or more look black then the connections have come off.

I know its probably too late but i hope its of some help.

I would hope by now you’ve had a repair done or you have managed to do it by yourself. If not it does sound like the same thing E90 a communications error between the display PCB and main PCB or a configuration code error. Try and clean the PCB and the ribbon connection between the PCB’s this sometimes works but you usually end up replacing the display PCB.

    Hope this helps BigCol.

Put the nut back onto the shaft a little and give it a knock with a nilon or rubber hammer that should loosen it give it a move from side to side and it should come off.

    Hope you manage it BigCol.

    Re: zannussi zwd12770 washer dryer

Check the main module (control PCB) for dry joints thats connections on the back of the PCB that look cracked or burned. If the PCB looks ok and the heater and wiring is ok its probably the main module at fault. Dont forget always make sure the machine is turned off and unplugged befor working on it.

    Hope you fix it BigCol.

    Re: Samsung RS21DCNS Fan issue?

How old is the appliance? and do you know if its had a service upgrade fitted this is a small fuse board thats been fitted to the main pcb. If not and the appliance is under 5 years old Samsung may repair it for free. When your checking the fan motor 1 of the connections is a return feed to the pcb so the diagnostics no that its running. Make sure the door switch is closed otherwise the fan motor won’t run it takes about 15 to 20 seconds after the door is closed. Check the diagnostics by pushing power cool and power freeze at the same time, after a few seconds there will be an alarm sound the display will flash and then go off at this point release the buttons and if any faults they will be shown in the display as 1 or more bars lit in the figure of 8 in either the freezer or fridge side make a note of it and let me know. Hope this helps BigCol78
