    Re: Baumatic Hood Light Issue

    Don,

The bulbs are GU5.3 bulbs and I suspect I may have too higher wattage bulbs, that get too hot and shut down, so I will check and ensure I have 20w bulbs or the energy saving ones at 6w.

    Thanks and regards

    Re: Baumatic Hood Light Issue

    Dave,

My hood is very similar to the Model: BT10.3GL but I suspect older. The 2 lamps run down the middle of the filters back to front and they are 12v diochoric lamps.

    Dave,

They are 12v halogens, unfortunately the model number and spec details seem to have been wiped off, hence my guess at the model number. if I have the wrong spec bulbs can you advise what ones I should have.

    Many thanks

Re: Whirlpool Tumble Dryer not heating – HELP!!!

    Hi,
had a similar fault on my Whirlpool, turns out it was the thermal limiter had blown. On my machine it was located under the fluff filter on the front of the machine.
i removed the lwer plastic grate and on the right hadn side were 2 brown wires, i grabbed the clip and just pulled the thermal limiter out. I put a meter across it and it read 16k ohms, should read zero or nearly zero.
The part was out of stock with the manufacturer, so iasked them to confirm the part code and then did a google search, found the part on amazon for half the price.

    Re: Whirlpool AWZ7913 Not Heating

    Hi,

Probelm resolved with the heating issue, turns out the thermal limiter had broken and needed to be replaced. The manufacturer did not have a spare part and they wuld not be available for over 2 weeks, at a cost of £25.50 delivered.
I managed to get the part number off the manufacturer parts line and did a Google search, i found one on Amazon for £10.50 and £5.50 for express postage. Part fitted on Saturday, heater now works.

The thermal limiter can be located at the front of the machine under the fluff filter. Remove the bottom grate/filter, where the heat exchange goes and on the right hand side are 2 brown wires, just grab the clip and pull it out. To replace make the cable connection and just slide into the rubber o ring as far as it will go, job done.

    Re: Whirlpool AWZ7913 Not Heating

    Hi,
On further testing it seems that the heater is working, when removed from the machine it fires up and goes off, i assume due to the lack of air flow across it? So if heater is working fully why is not hot air being emitted through the drum?
Could it be a thermostat on the heater board shutting the heater off?

    Martin,
You were spot on again, i have just retrieved a sock stuck in the sump sitting on the float valve under the drum. I have put the machine on a wash and i am confident that will cure the problem, if not i will be back on.
many thanks for you help and advice, spot on.

    Martin,
Just to be clear then, i need to check the drain hose from the drum down to and through the pump?
I cant understand why it drains on drain cycle but not on a wash cycle?
    Thanks

Re: Aquastop Error Message Siemens WIQ1430

    Martin,
All drain pipe work is clear of kinks and blockages and it drains ok on drain cycle, just not on a wash cycle. So i will check the sump hose and associated pipe work through to the pump. I also read this somewhere is it relevant?
There is a valve strainer Type valve attached to the bottom of some machines, I think some manufacturers put it there to hide it from you so that you have to call them to carry out the repair, my advice to you is call a repair engineer, but as you have already opened the machine you could try taking the valve of and giving it a good clean to clear off all the sticky residue that is causing it to stick, and or clean the straining valve, when you open it you will see what i mean, washers have a time limit to empty and if it is partly blocked it may empty some times and just register a problem other times be sure to disconnect the machine from the mains water and ELECTRIC and remember how you pulled It apart as reassembly will be the reverse procedure also check to see if you have a non return valve on the other side of the waste hose if so open it and clean.

    Thanks Tony

Re: Aquastop Error Message Siemens WIQ1430

    Hi Martin,

you were spot on, there was water in the bottom of the machine that hit the float mechanism and actuated the aquastop. Machine works but now throws up “pump blocked” messages. I have put the machine through a wash cycle but near the end it comes up with “pump blocked”. I can put the machine through a pump cycle that works fine and i have pumped directly into a bucket to check for external blockages. When the pump blocked message appears there is water in the filter/pump section.
    Any ideas please 🙂

Yes the lever does stay down, these are manual levers and can be poerated at any time during the cycle, they are dependant on the timer.
