ParticipantNo Dave won’t be taking the risk. I’ve given it a go but now her indoors has put her foot down and ordered a new machine.
Thanks for your input though it’s much appreciated. 😀October 2, 2019 at 7:11 pm in reply to: Hotpoint Mistral FF72P all 3 thermistors changed. Please help #463487Bob Ashdown
ParticipantHi Dave thanks for keeping in touch

Just to be accurate the freezer has 4 drawers and I’ve just noticed the top drawer is slightly warmer as the food in that drawer has almost defrosted. I’m guessing that has happened due to fan not running as according to the user manual the top drawer should be colder than the others.
Thanks for letting me know about QER, I want to see this through and send the circuit board to them but the missus doesn’t want me to spend any more money and she doesn’t want the food that’s still frozen to defrost while the board is sent away, she wants a new machine.
I wonder who’ll win.

ParticipantHi Dave thanks for responding. It seems the fan never turns. Fan seems to be ok because it runs if I remove the yellow thermistor.

ParticipantJust a quick post to say thank you to this forum for all the help over the years
I’m pleased to say the washing machine is still working ok (touch wood) but now needs a new door seal so I’ve ordered one from this website.
Thanks again

ParticipantRe: Siemens XLM1400 very loud knocking noises.
Fortunately it was the shocks they were well knackered 😀
Followed Dave’s instructions, took my time and it ended up being fairly straight forward.
Many thanks for your help :tup:Bob Ashdown
ParticipantRe: Siemens XLM1400 very loud knocking noises.
Parts have arrived 🙂
Can I just go ahead and use the 13mm drill or is it best to use a series of smaller bits and build up to 13mm?Bob Ashdown

Dave
Thanks so much for taking the time doing this it will really help.
Parts have been ordered
Cheers! :tup:Bob Ashdown
ParticipantRe: Siemens XLM1400 very loud knocking noises.
you will not need springs unless they have snapped
That’s worth knowing :tup:And yes the drum bounces easily so its new shocks then which I’ll order from your link which is good as the money will goes to ukwhitegoods 🙂
I’m ready for the challenge!
Thanks very much Dave it’s much appreciated 😀

Not flooded but it was the anti-flood device. Somehow it had detached itself from the bottom tray and the polystyrene float had moved, Have inspected and it all looks in good condition so have reseated it.
Many thanks Martin, very much appreciate the reply  🙂November 3, 2014 at 1:34 pm in reply to: Have read forum/FAQ’s but still need help please NEFF S4130 #421014Bob Ashdown

SORTED! 😀
Martin wrote:I imagine you have removed and cleaned the top nozzle in the roof of the tub? They often get crudded up.
I had already checked the nozzle and found it to be ok.
Today I had the day off so I took off the right hand side panel and found a blockage in the pipe leading to the nozzle.
It was a stone from a plum! 😀Thanks very much Martin for steering me in the right direction and not wasting time with my hosepipe test 😆
Hopefully my ageing dishwasher will be saved from the landfill for a little bit longer

Thank you again
I understand that and it sounds like a good idea.
I’ll give it a go! 😀November 2, 2014 at 8:07 pm in reply to: Have read forum/FAQ’s but still need help please NEFF S4130 #421011Bob Ashdown

Hi Martin thanks for the prompt reply 😀
I’m sure the spray is not clogged or leaking.
What I’m not sure about is that due to the age of the part and my lack of experience in judging that there’s too much friction for it to turn with water
So is trying to test the spray arm using a hosepipe connect to mains water not a valid idea?
ThanksBob Ashdown
ParticipantRe: Siemens WXLM148AGB FD8603 fault
Thanks again Martin.
I’ll see if I can lay my hands on an insulation tester.
If not perhaps it’s time for a new machine but at least I know I’ve tried.
As you may have guessed I’m not a throw away consumers that automatically sends things to landfill 😀Bob Ashdown
ParticipantRe: Siemens WXLM148AGB FD8603 fault
I’m still investigating why my pcb has blown, testing of the heater is on hold at the moment while I test the motor.
My motor has an 8 way connection block plus an earth connection.
One of the brushes is connected to pin 4 the other brush is connected to pin 5.
unfortunately it’s not possible to tell what the other pins connect up to.Here’s what I measure
Pin1 to pin2= 1ohm
Pin1 to pin3= 1ohm
Pim2 to pin3= 1.8oh
Pin4 to pin5= 2.3ohm These are the brushes. If I turn the armature slowly the reading remains the same. I therefore assume the armature is ok?
Pin6 to pin7= 23ohmI also get a momentarily reading (like a capacitor?) from 2meg ohm to infinity between Pins3&4, pins4&6 and pins6to8
Note
Pin8 is the only pin that doesn’t get a proper reading. It only has the momentarily reading between pins6and8.No readings between any pins to earth.
Brushes are ok
The motor looks clean with no sign of arcingMy guess (and it is only a guess!) is that the motor is ok?
I know I can’t be given a definitive answer, but your ideas would be appreciated.Edit
Just been thinking about the reading on pin8
If it is open circuit then surely that wouldn’t cause the pcb and fuse to blow?Bob Ashdown

I’m going sleep on this but thanks again Martin your help is very much appreciated.
