ParticipantRe: Bosch noise whirring on filling
Mm, not sure, as the noise is loudest in the cupboard where the valve is, and it appears to be vibrating similar to the airborne noise and it’s when it’s filling not emptying. (I checked the impeller and there’s nothing blocking it.) I’ll have to run it again and listen some more.

Yes, all OK. And switched on without tripping. Doubled checked the thermistor and that was working too.
Many thanks for your help Dave

ParticipantRe: LG tripping electrics WD-12650TP
The new one is different in that it has a thermistor between whereas the old one doesn’t. In ther old one it looks like the thermistor is separate to the left hand side, with a different connection. I’m presuming that I can connect it, without the thermistor, and it should be OK (so long as the old thermistor is functioning properly.
Interestingly the old one was caked in limesca!e and gunk!

Brilliant thanks. I’ll get one on order and fit it. I guess I better check the thermostat too, just in case that’s linked to the failure of the element. Or do they tend to fail independently?

Yep, doesn’t trip now! Can the heater be replaced easily?

ParticipantRe: New integrated dishwasher… for rental
Thanks for the advice.
Couldn’t fit a free standing appliance in – I tried but its just too tight. So gone for a secondhand (£35) Bosch until we need to by a new one.. and the BEKO looks best value overall.

Perhaps its better described as the lights dimming with noise on switch on. Any ideas, please?

ParticipantRe: Indesit DIF 04 DIF04 – flashing lights – dishwasher
OK, so someone will told me ‘I told you so’.. the aforementioned dishwasher now reluctantly runs the 2 heaviest programmes, then sits there and beeps intermittently… and the on/off button is unresponsive.
So I have managed to extend its life by a year..but I fear its going to have to go now!!

Yes, they came and fixed it (replaced the heating element) – look at one of the posts above. I think they letter I used was either on the consumer association website, or the BBC watchdog website. They phoned me up the following day after sending the letter. I was much impressed! (In Comet’s service, before anyone picks me up again for having bought an Indesit in the first place!)

Yes, I know what you said, and I was listening (!) …. so I wrote to Comet and explained that it wasn’t very old (2 years), said I wasn’t happy it’d broken down and that it wasn’t of satisfactory qualityas per the Sale of Goods Act, and they kindly sent someone round to repair it yesterday…replacing the heating element.. .. heated up the water but the light still flashes… so I think I better phone them up again….. and we’ll see what happens then!

OK, heater replaced. Dishwasher now heats up and runs through a cycle and power light stays on, but light 4 (Eco) flashes – any suggestions now, please?

Doesn’t get any better then! The picture of thepump is at http://www.4indesit.co.uk/cgi-bin/produ … path=52688
There’s 2 blue wires to one connector and 2 brown wires to another… but still not obvious which is the heating element!

ParticipantRe: Indesit DIF 04 DIF04 – flashing lights – dishwasher
OK, I know probably a daft question, but looking at the workings underneath – which is the heating element – is it connected to the 2 brown wires – access is not brilliant, and I can’t see anything obvious (but no doubt it is concealed).

ParticipantRe: Indesit DIF 04 DIF04 – flashing lights – dishwasher
OK, thanks for the response.
The 1st light flashes (the on/off) then either no. 3 or no. 5 depending on wish wash it goes on.
If I test the heating element what sort of resistance should I be getting? What shoudl I be checking for conitunity and similarly for insulation?
In terms of changing to a new dishwasher…welll that will depend on the outcome of this one!
Thanks.
