Actually, I obviously made a mistake when looking and the Liebherr is £1800, so is out of budget…
    Darn it!

    Re: Installing Bosch woes

Thanks guys, I was worried that either the door top would be higher, which would look crap or that if i put wood underneath that the door would sit lower and foul something when it opened

    Re: Zanussi oven thermostat wiring

Glad I found this old thread as it kept my oven going.

For future information. The AEG D4150 main ovens also use a 47THC23/F5 which can be replaced by a 47THC9/F8.

Wiring is like-for-like (ie Terminal 1 moves to Terminal 1, T2 to T2, etc) except Terminal F goes to Terminal A, and Terminal G goes to Terminal B

    Re: Ice forming in freezer

    Thanks for the link.

A bit more investigation last night shows that condensation is forming on the top of a jutting-out ‘shelf’ bit above the ice container.

This is dripping down to form solid ice (rather than ‘snow’ type ice) right across the width of the freezer, so I don’t think its a water leak from the ice maker, as that would be just in one place.

    thanks for teh responses.

    Steer clear of Samsung
I’m definately avoiding Samsung. I have learnt something from these forums

i would have a Bosch, Neff or Siemens purely for the soares back up, but most of the above are eithe made by daewoo in Korea or China
Bosch are made in China by Daewoo?

    Or there is Liebherr
only trur american fridge freezer is the GE
    Both too pricy unfortunately

Liebherr nor miele do an american side by side fridge freezer
Don’t Liebherr do the 6352 Premium side-by-side? or doesn’t it qualify for some reason?

Looks like the Bosch is the favourite so far.

Re: Servis washing machine not draining

A new 8kg machine looks like it will cost at least £260 (Beko) and I don’t imagine that it would be any better built than the Servis.
£75 doesn’t seem too bad in that context.

What, not available? or not worth to cost to replace it?

Re: Servis washing machine not draining

    Thanks,

    had a look through that.

I’ve tested the motor using my ancient multi-meter and there is a resistance of 175 Ohms between the two terminals. If my understanding is correct, then that means the the pump should work OK as it hasn’t gone open-circuit.
    So where to look next?

    Re: Compact/Narrow Dishwasher

    You Hijack away.

I’m still checking out dishwashers – the consensus gleaned from various forums, and talking to some friends with dishwashers, seems to be that Bosch, Neff and Siemans are all good. Miele is best, but very expensive. Anything else and you are likely to be disappointed one way or another.
Currently I’m trying to decide between a new Bosch (about £450) and a warranty-returned (so second-hand) SMEG for £260.

    Re: Compact/Narrow Dishwasher

Decided to go for a 45cm wide fully integrated model, and I’ll make thedoor fit one way or another. Amazing what I can do with a tude of Nonails and a hammer when I put my mind to it 🙂

Now its a choice between 3 models:

    Smeg DI4510 £349

    Bosch SPV40C00GB £450

    Neff S58M40X0GB £430

Neff and Bosch have 2 year warranty which is good. SMEG is only 46dB (compared to 49 for the others) which is good

    Any opinions either way?

    Re: Compact/Narrow Dishwasher

    I’m intrigued…

Firstly, my door front has a stainless steel bar handle going right across the top of the door (depsite the fact it is hinged on the left) so that isn’t a problem as far as opening the dishwasher goes.

Secondly. I’ve had a quick look around online at kitchens from B&Q, Homebase and the like, and none of them seem to do a 450mm wide door. They are all 300, 500 and 600mm widths as standard.

Re: How to remove front panel on Whirlpool S22DDSS23-A/G?

To remove the front panel, should just need to remove the drip tray and underneath are two screws. remove these and lift the panel up slightly and it will come loose.

Re: Whirlpool American Fridge Freezer broken down – help!

Well, my Whirlpool fridge is doing the rapid-clicking from the front panel. No other problems (yet!) as water and ice both seem to be working.

Looks like I need a new control panel (or maybe two) – luckily (I thought) I’ve got the 8 year parts warranty.

Phoned up Whirlpool – they want £120 call out charge to send someone out to have a look.:x
Thing is, I know that the company they use locally charge £49.50 call out as they came to fix my oven last week. So Whirlpool are skimming at least £70 straight off the top for their own faulty product! Bunch of profiteering barstewards! 👿
Might have to go and get a soldering iron and some capacitors from somewhere (whanks to the info on this thread)
