Update…board now replaced FOC and machine fully operation.
Fantastic result!September 3, 2011 at 1:15 pm in reply to: SGS45E02GB/45 washes fine but wont stop or reset?? #348613CJAPeterborough

Martin many thanks for the heads up on this recall.
I will book a callout and keep my fingers crossed re board swap.
Ironically my current machine (Bosch) has just cracked across the
top control panel -another achilles heal for the bosch machines.
Bodged a repair with araldite and yogurt pot strips but it is only a matter of time before it goes completely…Hopefully I can now get the other fixed and in service again!

I guess it wouldnt be heating or running through the program if any of the switches were dodgy.
Yes the water level is a higher than it should be imho
This model has the infamous jug impeller but havent seen this type of problem before ie overfilling or maybe weak pump?
I have a few bits from failed machines to try.
Will post back later
Thanks again for your replyCJAPeterborough

Yes I had the board out and cleaned all the contacts there is no obvious sign of damage.
There is a thread on DIY same model/same fault but the fix doesnt make sense (flap valve) which I have already checked
and its clear.
I am going to swap the heater box unit tomorrow to eliminate
the pressure/temp switches.
I am not in the trade (well I dont qualify for trade access) I am semi retired and get a kick out of fixing mostly Bosch.
I do make a few quid which I declare but I would starve if it was my main source of income….CJAPeterborough
ParticipantRe: SGS45E02GB/45 washes fine but wont stop or reset??
Thanks again-pressure chamber, transfer pipe, matrix all as clean as a whistle.
Got me stumped -may be the non return flap valve not working as it doesnt seem to empty completely.
although I dont understand why the main pump still runs-surely from the programmer?
When time zero shows the drain pump activates but the main circulation pump seems to stop and start.
If I open the door quickly at time zero I can see a dribble from the spray arms.
Could it be a faulty pressure switch? Thinks it still has water in it?
After a while the drain pump stops but the main circulation pump hums away quietly in the background.
Dont like to be beaten but I think it has me!CJAPeterborough
ParticipantRe: SGS45E02GB/45 washes fine but wont stop or reset??
Thanks for yoru reply but its the main circulation pump that keeps running not the drain pump they are two seperate pumps in the base which is bone dry and the flood switch triggers the drain pump as normal.

ParticipantRe: Jug Impeller or Failed PCB? [Bosch Classixx]
I would check the otherside of the machine as prerinse I believe doesnt use the heater.
Clean the transfer pipe between the pressure chamber and sump if you havent done so already.
Check the resistance across the heater element connectors 25ohms?Unfortunately the above doesnt explain the drain pump activation so it
may still be the pcb at fault.Plug out if you decide to go in…….

ParticipantRe: Bearings replacement on a Bosch WVT126SGB/01
Just to revive this thread I did eventually manage to change the bearings.
Apologies for the long post but it has been a bit of saga for me.
This was a lot of work as on the first strip down I didnt grease the underside of the bearing seal and shaft properly which turned the beast into a squeeking thing.
So had to spend another afternoon and do it again!
Also had problems getting the retaining circlip of/on at the end of the drum
shaft and the pulley was also a bit of a swine -certainly a learning experience for me and wouldnt want to do this everyday! The bearings themselves were relatively easy -I did use a bit of heat and also put them in the freezer-they more or less dropped straight in and didnt require too much force in/out so I was probably lucky with this part!
Anyway its now been working well again but now I have another problem which seems to be linked to the dryer element.
If the dryer element is connected then as soon as the selector switch moves to any program option the mains trip.
I have systematically troubleshooted the machine by disconnecting each of the main components ie pump/motor/wm element etc
I also have megger which shows I have a short to earth on the dryer element circuit.I have also taken the lid of the housing and the element looks as good as new…..it also shows good resistance….so I am baffled!
At the moment I have isolated the element and the machine is in use in wash only mode but would like to get it fully functional if I can.
I would welcome any advice as I a loathe to spend another £50 on an element that I a not convinced is faulty in the first place…..
Many thanks in advance -hopefully one of the Bosch engineers can point me in the right direction!

ParticipantRe: Siemens WDI 1640 Washer/Dryer – Drying Problem
I managed to fix one of these by exchanging the solenoid coil(it prizes off)
from a used single Bosch valve.
Quite a saving…..CJAPeterborough

sounds like you need a new jug impellor

ParticipantRe: Bosch SGS43A52/35
From my own experiences and having taken a heater assembly apart
I believe the drive mechanism is purely mechanical ie the motor does
not change direction(a set of cogs which switch a flap back and forth continuously)
So if the motor fails (or control to it) it will be stuck in one position.
There are three connections to it so a meter reading across them
may help diagnose if the motor has failed.Perhaps one of the pros on here will comment?
To further confuse things though the triac does look blown…..and if this
motor is controlled by the triac then a board repair could sort the problem. The motor is easily replaced(if you can source one) as its only held in place
with a couple of screws on the underside of the assembly.
If you are handy with a soldering iron then the chip replacement is straighforward.CJAPeterborough

Sound like you need a new pump……either blocked/restricted or loose impellor…

ParticipantRe: Bosch Exxcel SGS43EO2GB/43 Stops During Cycle
check your manual -you can download it from the bosch support site
There is a key combination that toggles the intensive drying on/off.Cant comment on the not emptying -there shouldnt be water above the
the filter tray after it finishes if there is then it could be a host of things.
Weak pump/restricted impellor or you have an overfilling problem.Have you cleaned out the sump hose and pressure chamber?

ParticipantRe: Bosch Exxcel SGS43EO2GB/43 Stops During Cycle
It will probably use much higher temp when on the drying cycle independant
of the wash cycle -check your manual.
Just checked and its 55 C on the rinse aid cycle and could be even higher
if you have the intensive drying option switched on.CJAPeterborough
ParticipantRe: Bosch Exxcel SGS43EO2GB/43 Stops During Cycle
yes it looks a bit dodgy to me……nothing to lose if you are going to replace it
anyway -
