ParticipantRe: Miele Novotronic W820 (how old model?)
Pull the soap tray out and look underneath
There will probably be a date stamp(sundial stamp) telling you when the
component was manufactured.Year is in the centre month on the outer.
If you take the lid off the same thing -date stamps on drum etc
Reasonable to assume the machine was then originally sold within
say 3mths of these dates.
You may even find a manufacturing sheet under the lod some of the Miele
machines I have seen have some documents taped to the underside of the lid or side panel.Hope this helps….in the absence of any other info this approach will
give you a fair idea I think?CJAPeterborough
ParticipantRe: Bosch WFO2460 Not filling but will rinse and spin
Does it have a hot and cold fill hose?
No single cold feed to two valves -one to wash tray chamber and the other to rinse/prewash

ParticipantRe: Bosch WFO2460 Not filling but will rinse and spin
does it haot valve?
Not sure what you are asking ‘:?’
The machine will now complete 30/40 degree wash cycles (there is some
heat)No start at the higher temp settings and strange behaviour on the delicates.
just the click thump sound of the valve activating but no whoosh of water.
Got to be the PCB surely ???
Would love to be wrong!!!!
Thanks again

ParticipantRe: Bosch WFO2460 Not filling but will rinse and spin
Thanks for the reply.
Tried without the motor plugged in and checked the valve resistances etc
Same problemMore detective work and it seems that bizarrely machine will fill with wash programs at 30/40 degrees, BUT anything 60 and above and click, thump is the sound the relay and valve makes.
Found also that the delicates wash continuously fills and empties…
Reckon the brain is well and truly fried…
Quick check on the Bosch website and a replacement can be had for
£117.48 plus vat plus delivery with no guarantee the machine would work. Will have to break for parts etc …shame cause everything else about the machine is good.

ParticipantRe: Bosch 1200 S Express – Noisy drum bearing
Just a suggestion but in my help if you remove the pulley bolt and pulley
to see the condition of the outer bearing.
A bit of grease may also help.
Are you sure the noise is coming from the drum and not the motor?BTW I have attempted a bearing replacement on a similar model and
would not recommend it……only an amateur myself but splitting the drum
is not for the faint hearted.CJAPeterborough

With regard to schematics you can get some help from the Bosch website
Just search your model number
Hope this helps!

ParticipantRe: Can anyone decipher a Bosch error code?
If you google bosch error code e3
Error “E3” on a Bosch front loader means there is a problem with the door. Either it is not closed properly (user error or a blockage) or the locking mechanism has a fault. Check to see that there is no object shoved in the latch hole (our 2yo just did that) preventing the door from closing properly. If it is not that, a technician is advised.

Thanks for your replies and re-assurance that it is unlikley to be the bearings.
Missed the obvious so will hunt for a magnet…..
Will keep monitoring the strainer for more granules
Like panning for gold but in reverse? :-0)

ParticipantRe: Bosch Classixx 1400 Express WFO2867/15 mystery rust?
Thanks for the reply.
The number of lumps has gradually decreased with the number of washes
which also suggest to me that there is something between the drums has corroded and is getting washed out.Alternatively the bearings are about to fail…but no noise …or play in the drum….and I reckon I could have filled an egg cup by now with all the flakes(surely failure by now)
that have come out of the machine.I have run a few service washes with soda crystals at 90 degrees -does anyone have other recommendations re cleaning the system out?
Have any of the folk that work with the Bosch machines a lot seen these symptoms before?
Thanks again
Chris

ParticipantRe: Bosch Classixx 1400 Express WFO2867/15 mystery rust?
To try and help identify the source I have attempted a couple of photos.
I am no David Bailey but hopefully the images may get me an answer?First is a few “rust” crumbs from this mornings wash…

and the next smeared out

If the conclusion is replace the bearings can someone advise the part number and if a complete kit is available including tub seal.
Many thanks in advance

ParticipantRe: Bosch Classixx 1400 Express WFO2867/15 mystery rust?
With the earlier service washes I would say the waste looked to have a slight brown/orange tinge…..the later washes now just give me the occasional brown flake.
I cant decide if I have got rid of something that had been between the drums and has now more or less broken up and been flushed out or if the bearing seal has gone and the machine should go to land fill.
I read somewhere on the forum that the spider can corrode etc so I was hoping one of the Bosch engineers who see this machine type regularly would know what the problem is?
At this time there is no play in the drum and no noise -surely if the bearing seal had gone it would sound like a bag of spanners now @1400rpm?Thanks again

July 16, 2009 at 4:09 am in reply to: Bosch 1400 Exxcel WFO2865 – not spinning on wash cycle? #291884CJAPeterborough
ParticipantRe: Bosch 1400 Exxcel WFO2865 – not spinning on wash cycle?
I had a similar problem previously on a Bosch about 4-5 years old the element resistance checked out fine but machine apparently not heating well or at all.
I decided to remove the element as the machine was badly scaled up in other areas making it hard to pump and drain etc.The element was badly scaled up….so I descaled it with an appropriate chemical and then ran some high temp service washes to clean the machine.
Hard water may be good to drink for our health but it sure isnt much good for washing machines……I am not in the trade btw just keen to learn and save a few pounds if I can.
If your machine is really furred up then your pump will be certainly on its last legs…this may also be why you are having probs with the washing cycle
not finishing as I believe there is a default time for the pump to empty which if exceeded (say 1min) will then cause an error.CJAPeterborough
ParticipantRe: Bosch KGV3120GB/01 Erratic Fridge temperature
After searching the many posts on this issue I decided to try the fix suggested below as virtually every other wiring combination has been offered as suggestions.
gegsy wrote:Hi
That r/h connector runs top to bottom 1-4 ok?
You then need take out the connector and cut the wires no. 1 (blue) and no. 3 (brown), join together the two cut wires with a connection terminal.
Insulate the other ends that are now left which go to NTC.
Plug connector back in and job done 😀
Un-plug appliance before attempting this :plug:Greg
So as an update installed small multiblock connector and shorted wires 1-3
(light blue and dark brown).Currently monitoring the temperature and will
report back the results.update 17/07 running a couple of days now stable at 5 C -looks like it may be fixed….slight buildup
of ice on rear wall though so may need defrosting now more often but may last for a year or two yet!CJAPeterborough
ParticipantRe: Bosch WAE32464GB/01 best motor brushes?
No I am not in the white goods trade -too much like weight lifting I’m afraidjavascript:emoticon(‘:)’)
Although as I get closer to retirement I may look to try and supplement my income (I do most of my own car maintenance and build PC’s to as hobbies)
I have always used Bosch appliances over the last 25 years and I suppose have brand loyalty-a lot of my family have them and I am fairly keen (tight?) to save money when I can.
I guess (I think) I have learnt a little bit about them over the years.Regarding the arcing -would you use something like a brake cleaner to remove the carbon(motor out off machine) from the windings, brush away or leave alone?
I guess if the carbon build up is causing the arc it would make sense to remove it?Would depend if the resin coating was effected in any way as brake cleaner is an organic solvent.BTW the Bosch site says the part number is 605694 in the WG shop for the replacements or I would have to rub down cheaper carbons to make them fit?

ParticipantRe: Bosch WTE86304GB Condenser Dryer goes to anti crease/end
Thanks for your reply.
Put in damp clothes approx 3-4kg and tried various program settings.
After 2/3 mins the machine goes to time zero with the anti-crease/end led lit up.
No other lights. Will try without any clothes to see what happens….
