ParticipantRe: Blocked Matrix? on a Siemens SN26M890GB
Thanks for the reply Martin
I had already checked the main motor as I know the older Bosch machines typically fail at the sump/motor seal resulting in leaks or seized bearings etc
There was only a table spoon or two of water getting to the base on full wash(not on quick wash-water level?) and there was evidence of dirty water overflow from the matrix at some point in the past.
I seemed to have fixed it by removing the matrix, cleaning the dirty water side and reseating the two seals which attach the matrix to the tub…time will tell.
I managed to get an E14 error on re-assembly which turned out to be a poor edge connector contact on the flow meter which is now integrated into the matrix itself.CJAPeterborough
ParticipantRe: Blocked Matrix? on a Siemens SN26M890GB
Hi
Have a similar error E15 on a Bosch SMS50E06GB and the matrix picture on this thread looks identical.(just out of warranty btw Feb 09 purchase)
There appears to be a slight build up of water in the base which triggers the anti flood.
Didnt show whilst running a quickwash but error came up mid cycle on the intensive wash.
Looking in the base there is small amount of water which has raised the polystyrene float(not a lot mind)
So is it likely to be overflow on the matrix or a leak from somewhere else…if so what are the common leak points on the newer type Bosch machines…I havent seen this type before btw
If someone(Martin?) could point me in the right direction it would be most appreciated.
Looks like I will have to drop the base and remove matrix to investigate further.
Hopefully it will be a relatively simple fix…CJAPeterborough
ParticipantRe: lower spray arm not working
No the aquastop is the inlet valve hence you would get no spraying at all

I don’t understand the last comment.

This means the parts are correct?Well the Ebay listing could be wrong but its easy to check a few of the Siemens models yourself(as detailed in the listing)and you will see they are the same part number across the models as yours.
I can just switch the motor assembly right? Its the aqua sensor that I can’t switch? But if I only switch the motor ass, and not the complete heating element then I won’t need to worry about the aqua sensor one way or another. So the cheap one on ebay will work. If I just switch the motor ass. is this a lot less work then doing the whole heating element. And all that is wrong is contained within the motor ass,?
Yes You takes your choice £££ for a new part or try the low cost option which imho will give you the motor swap parts you need.
eh…what?

……errrr?…No….you cannot transfer it over…no prizes for guessing why though… 😉
Sorry I stand corrected as the aperture may be blanked off.

ParticipantRe: lower spray arm not working
Well you can buy the cheapest one and switch the motor assembly which could be a cheap fix

ParticipantRe: lower spray arm not working
The motor is not listed as a seperate part.
The assembly you show should be fine alhough it doesnt have the aquasensor fitted (left side compare the two links above)
you can easily transfer your good one across.(small pcb sensor card that just pull out of the housing)You can see parts diagrams on the siemens site -the models listed on my earlier link cross reference to 483058 (replaced with 488856.
I am sure you will get further help here if you decide to go ahead with the repair.
The hardest part is getting the base seperated from the main tub.

ParticipantRe: lower spray arm not working
Assuming the arm is fully locked in place and there is no water
spraying from it then the diagnosis in the earlier reply is the most likely problem.
There is a small motor on the base of the heater housing which through a series of geared cogs operates a flap backwards and forwards diverting the flow to the top and bottom in cycles.
The motor may have failed or a cog come loose.
To get at the heater assembly you need to completely drop the base and unless you can find a scrap part or machine(Ebay etc) unit is only sold complete as housing/element/motor etc £££.Motor is easy to change a couple of screws etc.
Depend on how much time and motivation you have to fix it.
Most of the heater assemblies are common parts across the Bosch/Neff/Seimens ranges
You can see a pic of the assembly below…the black housing is the motor.

Have you checked the fan is working?

ParticipantRe: sgs3042gb/03 Dishwasher wont fill up properly
If it completes the cycle then it must be filling and rinsing ie inlet valve working.
You need to remove the lid and side panel and check the water matrix, pressure chamber and transfer hose to sump.
Likley something is gunged up….checkout the diagrams here

The drain pump should be a simple diy fix as likely a three screw or bayonet mounted askoll pump
should be available from the shop here or google/ebay is your friend…September 25, 2011 at 7:52 pm in reply to: Bosch SGS55C02GB/01 – Will not empty, then “check water”. #359902CJAPeterborough
ParticipantRe: Bosch SGS55C02GB/01 – Will not empty, then "check water"
sounds like the pump to me…have you checked the impellor is clear(filters out, torx lhs, pull up cover(in manual)
Pump is located bottom left as you look at the machine.
You can just about see it on the matrix side behind the red anti flood rod.May even be able to get a meter on it.
Other way is to remove front kick plate (torx either side) and then lift and pull away the front metal shield(again torx either side)Pump bayonets on to the side of the sump(lock tab) -usually there is a flip cover on top of the pump to protect the wiring.diagram here (0435)
http://www.bosch-home.co.uk/store/spare … 55C02GB/01oh and I am sure you will take the plug out before going in!

ParticipantRe: Bosch Dishwasher not heating up and cycle never stops
Its a while since I worked on one of these myself.
In between the heater element connections you will see a microswitch at 12 o’clock -behind this there is a small plunger
which is pushed out (and makes the switch) if there is sufficient water pressure.I have seen these stick-rare for the microswitch to fail -but again you check if the switch is working(prise out)
On top of the heater assembly there are two sensors-difficult to get at-I recall fixing a machine with a similar problem as one of them was o/c and giving no temp readback(rhs one I think)
You can check these with plug out and simple resistance checks. Not sure how to link to other posts but I have nicked a pic from
another thread below

ParticipantRe: Bosch Dishwasher not heating up and cycle never stops
does the machine run the main circulation pump ok ie is it spraying etc
Easy way to check the cycle is to take both side panels off and
watch what is going on.
If there is a faulty pressure switch or blockage on the heater it will fail to heat the water even with a good element.
The board looks ok to me with no obvious blown joints.September 9, 2011 at 7:52 pm in reply to: Bosch Dishwasher not heating up and cycle never stops #358608CJAPeterborough
ParticipantRe: Bosch Dishwasher not heating up and cycle never stops
I would check the resistance of the heater element (remove rh side panel and heater box is bottom right)Should be 25-30ohms
If oc then thats your problem-as always plug out before going in. -
