Yes, it’s a flood protection device.

What’s your postcode ?

I guessed as much, not rubbish, quite ammusing in fact 😉

ParticipantRe: Atlant
You got a model number P ?
It’s almost certainly a rebadge as Atlant only ever manufactured refrigeration as far as I know.

ParticipantRe: Diplomat Dishwasher ADP8224 in need of repair
Hi Adam.
I think one of the site members Alex’s company cover that postcode, he’s away on holiday so I’ll reply on his behalf.
His company details are all here on his website:
http://www.sedgemoordomesticappliances. … ntact.html
I know they cover some BA postcodes but I’m not sure which one’s, it’s worth a phone call though. They are also MFI (Diplomat) agents so will have all the relevent information for your dishwasher.

ParticipantRe: ‘Stocklink’ FREE!
That’s odd as our new rep from Partscentre or Washvac whichever you wish to call them had an appointment with me last Friday to install Stocklink on a free of charge trial basis as previously I have refused to pay for it.
I don’t believe I should pay for software that ultimately only benefits the supplier by increasing their sales, especially as their main competitor’s version is free.
I had to cancel the appointment due to call volumes etc, I will be requesting that it is installed free of charge permanently when he returns now though.
Thanks for the info Martin.

ParticipantRe: Thermostat for Zanussi Fridge/Freezer
Yeah, it is an old model.
To be honest, I would cut your losses and replace it as it will almost certainly be one of the faults Ken mentioned, all of them expensive or unrepairable.

Merlino (where did you get that name from BTW ?), I have to assume it’s the same model as the origiator of the threads ?
Try tilting the machine over to one side slightly and see if any water runs out, with an old towel handy 😉
The control unit is £41.34 inc VAT for your info, it may not be that that’s failed though.
Take a look in the directories for an Independant repairer near you or pop your postcode here, we will certainly be a lot less expensive than Merloni and faster as well.

ParticipantRe: Annual Inspections
What happens if you actually find a fault on the appliance while you are there carrying out the inspection ?
I would hope a new call would be raised and paid for seperately as this is just an inspection, not a repair.
Cleaning materials – for cleaning what ? The appliance ?

ParticipantRe: Thermostat for Zanussi Fridge/Freezer
Yeah, the two white leads are the defrost heater, put the spare one on terminal 3.

ParticipantRe: Thermostat for Zanussi Fridge/Freezer
OK, as it’s a Ranco:
6 = Main power in
4 = Compressor
3 = Auxillary switch (light or anything else left over)That should do it 😀

ParticipantRe: Thermostat for Zanussi Fridge/Freezer
It depends who made the thermostat.
It should be either a Ranco or Danfoss, this should be on the thermostat itself.
If you can let me know that, I can tell which terminal does what but I won’t be able to tell you which wire goes where as the colours of the leads are irrelevent to a certain axtent.
You would need to find out which one is the main power input, which one goes the the motor (compressor) and which goes to the light switch.

I’d be very interested to know how you get on.
If not, I can order them for you, take 25{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} off those prices as well for trade.

ParticipantRe: smeg dwi64
In fact don’t tell me I know, it’s Connect (Electrue) ! I just put those part numbers in and that’s the price they come up with here.
Come on Connect, those prices I quoted are the Smeg list price, i.e. the price the public would pay were they to phone Smeg and order the part themselves.
How on earth do you come up with those prices ?
Dave.

ParticipantRe: smeg dwi64
Ehm, may I ask who your suppler is ?
The part number does change to the one he quoted you, but the price I let you have was for that part and remains the same.
The console panel is list price £29.33 ex VAT.
Someone is taking the p*ss methinks 🙄
