Slight understatement that one ! 👿

Refering back to the problem we had with a Creda gas oven, in the end the rep came and swiped the Merloni credit card to the tune of £120 to allow us to replace the appliance, give the customer some compensation for the three month wait for a repair, three days of work for engineers who failed to show up….

I wonder how many other companies they have had to “pay off” to keep their custom ?

Try running it with the heater disconnected, wait for the defrost cycle to kick in and check the current being drawn then.

The heater will be switched either by a relay or a triac on the PCB.

    We’re a CDA agent Martin.

The washing machine- depends on which model it was as they are nearly rebadged, washers are Siltal and Smeg among others, dishwashers are Whirlpool made on the whole.

They supply a huge ammount of integrated refrigeration products to caravan parks as well.

All appliances come with free 5 year part warranty and on the whole only use Independants as repair agents.

Good company to work with to be honest, easy to get hold of, parts not an issue and they pay on time and pretty well too.

Not that deep actaully, but I only have very short arms 😆

I’d forgotten all about this TBH, we don’t have a major hard water problem here so it doesn’t raise as an issue that often.

    Any takers ?

Turn the washer off, then turn the dial to any black dot. Now turn the washer on and you should see the power indicator light flash 3 times. On the third flash turn washer off again and select a wash programme. Turn the washer on again and after a couple of seconds the machine should start.

Re: Hotpoint Icediamond RF64P replacement door seals

You are correct in as much as the doors are complete, but I don’t know where those prices came from. Hotpoint list price for the doors:

    Fridge £53.15
    Freezer £54.73

Both inc VAT but not carriage, which given the size and weight shouldn’t be more than £20 for both if sent by parcel post.

So £130 would be the maximum the pair should cost you, unless the price you mention included fitting ?

It basically means there is an electronic (software) error, try resetting it as per you user manual, or I’ve posted the sequence several times in various threads if you don’t have the manual.

If that doesn’t work, you will need an engineer to check it our for you. Let us know how you get on with the resetting please.

Ah, OK then – F3 means basically no heat yes (less than 1.5C rise in 20 mins)

Apart from the obvious, heater, thermostats, no water circulation, wiring etc it can be the PCB according to the Smeg info, part number 816290656, list price £123.96 plus VAT

    OK, the two parts………

    Ignition button £4.41
Ignition switch – no part number although it is shown on the diagram, if this part is actually required I can ask MFI for you, although they rarely fail.
