ParticipantRe: Comet Service Centres
bonzaco wrote:Is this an indication that they can,t get the staff?
It looks that way, and what with contacting already establised companies for staff 😕
On top of that, I had the manager of our regional service centre in here last week after a spare part they couldn’t get 😯
Interesting stuff !

ParticipantRudolph_Hucker wrote:This will I assume be regionalised?
It looks that way yes, where they can’t find engineers through the usual channels, job centres etc.
Rudolph_Hucker wrote:This is the opposite to what I have heard before, as it has been rumoured several times they are closing certain centres.
And me untill now

ParticipantRe: Caremark
kwatt wrote:My question would be, for how long?
Not very I doubt, as far as I am aware EAC had virtually national coverage anyway, even before the re-employment of Caremark engineers. So with a little extra training for their refrigeration only guys, not long at all.

Yes it’s surprising how the seem to love the live terminal side of washing machine timers isn’t it, it must be warm snuggled between the timer and the cabinet…….
….not as warm as when the machine gets switched on though 😈

ParticipantCalender added
You will see a new link to ‘calender’ on the navigation panel on the left.
You can add events, meetings etc. or anything else relevent to the trade.
This facility is only available to registered users of the site and all submissions will need to be verified by site admin for approval.
Another addition to make the site even more useful for everyone 🙂

ParticipantYou may also want to take a look here:

and here:

You probably have the info here already, but quite handy anyway.

ParticipantAs Flipper had said, that about sums the situation up very nicely.
The spares overpricing subject is of huge importance to us, it affects so many aspects of our industry.
Very good article Ken. 😀

ParticipantThere is a contract running currently that not only expect you to accept a reduced fee, but to install a new product if the appliance is BER, all for the same reduced fee.
It is a contract we no longer cover, oddly enough though, even after the many BER’s we handled, not once were we requested to return to the same customer and install a new appliance. If they had asked though, the reply would have been “We need a new call booked for this please, with another labour fee or I’m sorry we cannott return for the same fee, it is uneconomical”

ParticipantOne of the threads is here http://www.ukwhitegoods.co.uk/modules.p … opic&t=300
There were never any names brought forward though, there was a thread on the mailing list a few months ago on that topic with various insurers mentioned.
If you have all the messages saved on you’re pc it should all be there somewhere, if not let me know I’ll try and dig it out for you.

Participantkwatt wrote:I’ve also heard on the grapevine that a few of that WP’s customers are not at all happy as well and have been looking for alternatives.K.
There is only one viable alternative for those customers, work with the people that do the work, by pass the expensive people who have burdoned us all for too long. As most of the work that they should be doing has gradually been handed back to us over the years (crafty that, give us more admin, but still retain the same fee) we are more than capable of handling all that they can do, and more. Rest assured this has already started to happen, and from the feedback I get from those who I work with (with, not for) are more than impressed with the better level of service they recieve, for less cost to them, and better rates for us.
Winners all round 😀
