Re: Part number for Smeg UK80MFX Thermostat?Wrong part deliv

    I still haven’t returned 818731128.
Do you know if 818731128 is identical to the correct part 818730269, except the mounting is 180Ëšdifferent? It’s no problem for me to drill new holes.
What worries me is that it’s safe to use and that the temperature increments are the same and the grill will work when turned to max. Also that the wire connecting to the sensor is long enough.
    Also,
Part 818731179 arrived in the post this morning. If it’s wrong I will return it immediately, but it is listed on some web sites as the later replacement for 818730269.
    Eg.

I would like to have a working oven for Easter, which means using 818731128 or 818731179.
    Thanks for your help.

Re: Part number for Smeg UK80MFX Thermostat?Wrong part deliv

If I can make the modifications to fit this part, will it function in the same way and safely?
Will the temperature increments be the same and will the grill function at max temperature?
This Smeg oven is costing a small fortune in spare parts, so I went for the cheapest website, but this has backfired on me in lost time and hassle. I have call them and they are certain this part is compatible.
    Thanks for your time. 🙂

Thanks, they have now sent me another part, but it’s 818731179, which I think is for the later model UK80MFX (after 2003). My oven is the 2000 model. Can I still use this part or is it only compatible with the newer models? Cheers

Is there anywhere that sells second-hand parts off wrecked appliances?
    I live in London. Thanks

    Thanks Bazza.
So not a complete waste then??
I have managed to keep the machine working by propping something against the door. Will try and fix the latch somehow before inevitably buying the complete door.

    Human error I guess.
I had it on the wrong setting, which I am 99{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} sure I tested after installing the element. When I tested this setting it didn’t heat up so I assumed it was for defrosting.
Two nights ago when I checked the model number and power output I decided to check if the element was actually going red hot. This was a good opportunity as I had the fan / element cover off.
So I tried each setting on the selector switch and it worked on this setting.
After further investigation I discovered that the original setting I was using is for low intensity baking on the bottom shelf.
    Cheers.

Thanks for your advice. I have fixed the problem and the oven works perfectly. Now all I need to do is fix the grill.

    Re: Smeg UK80MFX cooker-fan element replaced-only reaches 18

I have always suspected it may be the element. I will check the receipt and part tonight after work.

    Thanks

    Re: Smeg UK80MFX cooker-fan element replaced-only reaches 18

I haven’t checked the temperature with a thermometer, but from my judgement the oven definitely doesn’t get anywhere near its maximum temperature of 250c and it takes over 20 mins to reach even 100c (according to the thermostat). It seems as though the element is not reaching its optimum temperature.

    Cheers
