Re: ISE 5 mk 1 motor failures

    Jim / Chris,

We have to be carefull what we describe as ‘epademic’. You two literally have got hundreds of machines out there some close to three years old. We have only used about 50 motors (plus some carbons) since we’ve started from 3000 plus MK1 machines in the market.

The mk1 machines are aging particularly in high use situations but overall we have consitsantly run at the 6{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} mark, they are all insurred and as promised from the start we pass you the work.

Where we have been caught out and for which we appologise is running short of spares. Sean has gained extra service contracts for Deltec (which is demanding all his time) we therefore have had no choice but to move parts ordering and depatch to Kilmarnock. While this transition was taking place we lost continuity of parts ordering, which has meant when we get a sudden flurry on one part we have been running out then scrambling arround trying to get them in.

Ken is very much on the case and we will soon be in a position where we are back to the smooth running parts supply we had with Sean in Anglesey

    Hi Tim,

Sorry I missed the thread over the weekend. It is clearly unacceptable to have to wait another 4 weeks to get the parts to fix the machine therefore my gut reaction was as I have an old 5 still in packaging I would drop that off in the absense of any spares.

However, Ken (who runs the service / parts bit of ISE from Killy) has picked up the thread and it is clear that the four weeks lead time quoted to you is not case. Also we buy insurance on these machines therefore we have to go through the agreed process with Axa prior to agreeing an exchange.

If we can get parts to you in the next couple of days or Axa declare the machine a BER that resolves the issue. In the absense of part or BER then you can have the old machine.

One way or another we will resolve it this week.

    Regards

    John

In future I’ll limit my responses to the business side of ISE and leave the techical side to the engineers (Sean and Ken)

    Steve,

Sorry for being a bit invisible at the moment Steve, I’ve been beavering behind the scenes trying to get machines and parts ordered months ago into our warehouse.

This should all ease this week with the 10s arriving tomorrow (PLEASE!!!!) and 36 boxes of Vestel spares that Sean ordered start of September finally arrived last Friday.

The reason the machines ended up in Iceland is because container ships for unloading in the UK are held until there slot for unloading is available. This is because it takes 8 – 10 hours to unload ships of this size, so when a slot is missed due to bad weather or shipping incompetance the ship docks somewhere else and waits. That why when we had high winds in the spring our container of 5s ended up spending a week in Rotterdam waiting to get into Felixstowe and why our 10s ended up in Iceland waiting for a slot in Hull.

    See you soon

    Cheers

    Hi Guys,

The container containing the Vestel parts (6 pallets of them) got into Leeds today and will be with Ken and David by the middle of next week.

There has been a recent run on door interlocks on Vestel made machines for a number of companies ourselves included and I was informed yesterday that from the new year all ISE 2 and 5s will have different interlocks on them (this will be on stock we receive from after 17th January) – Read into that what you like, you can guess what my take is on it.

    Cheers

The 10s and vented dryers have been booked into Hi-way for 8 a.m. Tuesday morning. So the will be going out from Wednesday.

Sorry for this, we ordered them 22nd August and they will end up arriving 10 days before the container of 10 washers we ordered on 3rd October.

Thanks for you patience (in the long run the problems we are currently having may work to our advantage).

    Re: Is Our Guarantee Safe

    Hi Steven,

Our guarantees are safer the Manufacturers guarantees as shown but Service Uk, and way safer the own label people like MFi both of whome have gone bust leaving a mess because their guarantees are based on the assumption that they keep trading.

If we cease trading our machines are covered by Axa who will continue to pay parts and labour as per our contract. Whether Axa are safe in the light of AIG who knows, they certainly won’t tell me if they are in trouble. We are just paying our £20,000 per month for insurances on the premise of in the unlikely event of Axa getting in to trouble the government will bail them out.

    Re: ISE10 No Stock

I have been told this morning that our ISE 10 washers will be shipped from Sweden today along with some vented versions of the ISE 10 tumble dryers (we will post more details shortly).

We should have them in about a week

To avoid another stock out due to all the back orders (as kept happening with the 5s) we have another container of 10 washers arriving mid December.

This will mean we finally caught up with the increased demand and will have enough stock of everything to last until the new year.

    Thanks for your patience.

    Re: ISE2 PRICE INCREASE

I am sorry we had to put the prices up but increased fuel costs (through the summer), factory increases and exchange rates have meant that we made less than £10 per machine on the last 2 containers.

Appart from this tying up over £60,000 in stock and credit it means if four people owing me £500 each don’t pay on time or god forbid go bust, we are in a loss making situation on this product.

We bought the 2s in a low cost supplement to help the agents who were buying 5s to help them get more sales with customers on lower income. If other products such suit these purposes better I would rather lose the sale than have the other products we sell subsidise the ISE 2.

    Sorry

    Hi Guys,

I have not posted on the forums for a while but most of the posts have been technical rather than business related so I leave Ken and Sean to pick those up.

Thanks for your support on selling the new products with such enthusiasm. We have now finally caught up with stock levels that matches you demand. Hindsight is a great thing, but had I known the new 5 in particular was going to be so popular with volume tripling from verion 1 I would have ordered more stock to start with, but at least now our warehouse is full with buffer stock for all ISE products. Thanks for your patience.

We are not going to bring out any more new products now until 2009 to allow our infra-structure to catch up with our sales.

Sean is doing some fantastic work making sure we have every part for every machine available immediately and updating the tech information with CDs and pocket books to be availble by the Autumn. Ken is working to improve the user manuals (particularly for the dishwasher) and 10,000 corrected brochures will be available from Tuesday. We are going to get some help in the office for David and I have been working behind the scenes on future product introductions (particularly having been to see Asko in Sweden last month), some big public sector contracts for which you will get installation and service work for and some opportunities that WEEE has turned up with the government’s view shifting towards our way of thinking.

Thanks for your support, hope to see you at Sibson at the end of September.

    Cheers

    Re: ISE 5 Stock levels

    Hi Guys,

I am a bit less down hearted than my last post. As Ken said it looks like Vestel UK have manged to secure some enough motors for us to get a container load for the start of July.

The Sunrise machines have gone now as Mark said it was washed out (which is why they are unused) but Myself and Sean had diven down to set up on the Wednesday, they could not get the van on the field as it was too wet and when they suggested putting them on a horse and cart to get them accross we turned round and went home for ‘health and safety’ reasons.

I had a very useful trip to Asko and have skaken hands on a dishwasher. More details to follow shortly.

    Re: ISE 5 Stock levels

It is with regret that I have to tell you that our next container of ISE 5s were not manufactured on Monday due to the motors failing the pre-production QA test.

This has resulted in Vestel completely suspending production of all machines using this motor until Q.A. at the factory are happy with the motors. This means that container 3 due for delivery 7th July is also suspended.

Over the last week I have been seeking clarification from Vestel but the details are sketchy. A new batch of motors are due in for mid July but that will mean that we will have no stock until the start of August.

As for the thousands of motors in quarantine, some will be passed as OK but we are in a ‘scrum’ for machines with all the other companies accross Europe whose orders have been prosponed. Steve Waddilove (Vestel’s UK MD) has promised to fight to get us machines as quickly as posible but the MD of all the countries are in the same fight.

I am visiting to Asko Monday so out the business until Wednesday, in my absense Ken will keep you informed.

Production moves all the time, and this sort of thing it not uncommon but you never normally notice as I have stock in hand on 2s and 10s and the old 5. While it’s re-assuring they take Q.A. so seriously, it is just massively disappointing this happened at a time we have no stock.

    Sorry,

    John (gutted)

    Hi Guys,

Most of you will know this but thought I would update the public forum.

The New ISE 5 dishwashers have docked and will be in our warehouse Friday with deliveries to you starting on Monday, for details see the website (if you want to see a machine give me ring).

Due to massive demand we have run out of the new 5 washing machines. All orders already in the system will be honoured and machines from container 2 will be available W/C 23rd which means we are out for about 10 days.

While it is a big thank you for selling a container in 5 weeks it’s a big sorry for underestimating the demand.

To avoid further problems we have brought forward container 3 to W/c 7th July so unless we sell container 2 in 3 weeks stocks will be fine from now on.

I am sorry I have not been out and about as much as normal but I have been doing a lot of work behind the scenes particularly with the ISE 10 to secure supply contracts which some of you are already benifitting from with installation payment and in the long term service work.

    Regards

The ISE 5 dishwasher are planned to be made on the 15th May allowing two weeks for shipping and onward transport, they should be in our warehouse w/c 2nd June.

However given what happened with post production testing on the 5s and then high winds off the East coast which left our machines stuck in Antwerp for 6 days I an reluctant to commit to anything other than June delivery.

    Cheers
