Re: Brand new dryer won’t open? Door in locked position!!!??

    Hi

Assuming your model is the DCY9316 😉 it has an electronic door lock. Looking at the picture using the magnifier from this link the dryer has a lock on it.

Is the padlock symbol lit? If it is you need to disable it by pressing the ending in and the alarm symbol together to disable it.

That aside it’s back to the retailer!!

Bosch WAQ283S1 good all round machine covers all you would ever need. Currently on a £50 cashback from selected retailers.

It’s well documented on here that I am a fan of Bosch products. The build is better than most, ease of use, energy efficiency and the two year warranty still make them a popular choice in the mid price bracket.

A lot is mentioned here about non replaceable bearings due to the sealed tubs. If you don’t overload the machine, regularly check the filter, carry out a maintenance wash, leave the door and soap dispenser slightly open when not in use this all helps look after the machine.

Barring electronic failure the machine should go for a good eight years. We have a nine year old Bosch which completes 3-4 loads every week and I have yet to replace anything on it.

I’d rather have an AEG or a Zanussi any day when you look at a lot of the carp that is currently around.

Two year warranty helps if you have problems as well.

Full model number and serial would help 😉 but as electrofix has said it may be a struggle.

    Hi

Montpellier is a new brand on the block currently distributed exclusively to independents. It’s early days yet but so far from what we have seen most is okay.

The laundry products are made better than the dishwashers and the refrigeration is okay as well.

Service is carried out by local independent retailers but spares can be a little slow at times.

All that said not a bad start but some improvements need to be made.

Zanussi and Bosch are worth a look for the best you need to get the Miele at a cost of course!!

    HTH 😀

    Re: AWOL

If you are employed like myself then the business may continue to pay your salary. If the business is not able to pay while you are away then loss of earnings can be claimed through the court system. Up to 1.30pm is half a day pay, anything over 1.30pm is paid at a full day’s pay. Claims go in every two weeks.

On the form if agreed with employer you can return to work on the odd half days or if you are not required in court at all on a particular day.

For self employed then this article in the Guardian is a good guide.

In addition there is travel subsistence and a daily meal allowance. Most took packed lunch and claimed as the prices on site are not cheap!!

    Hi

We saw a few built in ovens, hobs and hoods a few years ago. Distributed by DAD at Tewkesbury, Must have been a one off as not seen them since. Budget brand not bad for the price though. The stack on the chimney hoods were all damaged due to poor packaging which caused a few problems but on the whole not bad for the price.

Nothing comes up now on Google except an American site. I’m sure as the name suggests they originated from Scandinavia.

Not blow by blow yet as there will another trial in connection with the one I have just sat on. The restrictions on the press reporting on this case will not be lifted either until after the next trial. The den of inequity is larger than we first thought.

All I can say is that the 40 indictments presented by the crown were for rapes and abuse of the worst kind imaginable. The defendant was found guilty of each and every one.

So hopefully there is some closure for the claimants.

Hope you feel better soon 😀

There is access if you are a Repaircare agent. But it is now just the low volumes ones that are available like White Knight (available online), Caple, Kenwood, Daewoo, Rangemaster and Hoover Candy.

    Hi

Glad you got the seal promptly and it has got the oven working again and at a reasonable cost.

Appreciation is always welcome, I’ll tag Dave in the shop into this thread so he can pass on your comments 😀
