Price will depend on width, height and whether frost free is a requirement after reading this article. As for value and good after sales service I would go for JLP or better still an independant retailer.
Which washing machine did you go for in the end?

ModeratorRe: Hotpoint F/F FFA52P didn’t restart after defrost
Hi Pigpen
Not many 55cm wide units out there nowadays in the 50:50 split of reasonable quality. Apart from the FFA52 your customer has there is the non frost version RF52, Bosch KGV28V01GB, Zanussi ZRB224NWO along with a couple of Lecs, after these there are just one or two Beko`s in the branded stock lines.

Hi pmac
As the garage could get quite cold due it being only single skinned construction I would not recommend a sensor dryer as on average they require an ambient temperature of +5 degrees Celcius to operate correctly.
Instead I would go for a straight forward vented timed dryer like the White Knight 44AW They are a good all round machine at a reasonable price and spare parts should they be required are inexpensive.
Congratulations to you both on the birth of your baby boy 😀

Hi Ishtar
I would settle for Bosch or Hotpoint.Check out our buying guide here for much more info.
You will need to know the width as they do vary, common widths are 54, 54.5, 55 and 60cm.

ModeratorRe: Is this a right model number?
Hi
Looks like it’s a WXLM122GB/04 according to the parts list and explosion here on Siemens e-shop. Page 5, part number 366743 for the fill hose.

ModeratorRe: Talktalk what a joke!
Been keeping quiet on this so as not to tempt fate.
Our connection at home used to drop out regularly on dial up so we went wireless and of late connection has been excellent. Speed not so good, get 6mbs at best as we are in a rural area.
Anyways, Sunday no connection at all. Router diagnostics all okay, had to go to pub to use the wireless facility to make sure laptop was okay, ( had a pint as well to keep landlord happy 😀 )
Monday still no connection, phoned Tiscali kept on hold for ages, no contact made. Phoned last night got through to support, 40 minutes later still no connection, we will get an engineer to call you back on Thursday evening between 7 and 9pm. Not going to hold my breath :rolls: enough is enough, going to change to Eclipse.

ModeratorRe: Recommended Washing Machines
Hi
You are certainly in the right price bracket if you are after a half decent machine with a good track record and guarantee.
Bosch and Siemens (same stable) are the way to go. Varying load sizes and variable spin speeds and temperature control. Siemens are a slightly higher spec and most come with a five year warranty as opposed the Bosch standard two.
A couple of good reads on load sizes and washing machine guide may help your decision making.

ModeratorRe: How do you register on the repairs @?
Hi Kez
I would think admin@ukwhitegoods.co.uk in the first instance for repairs@ and lcarey@whitegoodstradeassociation.org for the subscription renewal to the WTA.
HTH 😀
