According to the AEG website they produce a super silent machine which has an brushless inverter motor, there is no mention of direct drive.
I wouldn` t go as far to say it`s misrepresentation on the part of Tesco. More like input error of the human kind 😉

Several issues arise re private sale. Obvious one is why are they selling after such a short space of time? If you know the sellers personally and it`s a geunine reason for the sale then fine. Otherwise tread carefully.
The guarantee is the most important area as the purchase reciept will show the original comsumer details, they may have registered the appliance to gain the second year guarantee in which case I don`t think the guarantee will be transferrable.
The WAE28366 may just be the better option.

Officially it`s complete motor only I`m afraid.
I have known customers take a carbon brush around such places as lawnmower and power tool repair agents , you may have to modify the part a little though 😉
