You can match the odd box-shifter price if you can get a little margin support from your friendly rep. However if you make a habit of it you will not be a retailer for long due to the much larger overheads retailers have to face.

    Hi

http://www.poltiuk.co.uk/ are considered in the trade to be the Rolls Royce of steam cleaners. There are cheaper imitations out there but none match up 😉

Re: Another new fridge freezer post Bosch or Liebherr

    Hi Lid

Liebherr refrigeration is the best you are going to get in the UK as far as traditional fridge freezers are concerned. The Bosch is a good alternative but the build and longevity of life on the Liebherr is better IMO.

Both manufacturers have excellent service back up.

If you have any concerns about guarantees you can always extend by a further 2, 3 or five years depending on which insurance company you use. Or as you say by purchasing from JPL you will get the added bonus of a longer free one.

Autolycus wrote: Their enquiry line wouldn’t say how to tell where any particular machine was made, but hinted it might be possible to interpret the model number.

It may well be possible if you are an employee of BSH.

    Autolycus wrote:
Is this the significance of some being “GB” suffix and some “UK”?

As far as I`m aware from my source the GB / UK products have different VNR numbers but the products remain the same. If I am incorrect then someone will correct me 😉

    Autolycus wrote:
Are their German-made machines better than their Polish or Spanish ones?

BSH group products ie Bosch, Neff Siemens and gaggenau are made in BSH own factories across Europe. The biggest factor is the labour force costs less in these countries than in Germany. This in turn ensures they remain competitive in the market place.

Present favourite is Siemens SN25M230GB, £399 from John Lewis with 5 year guarantee.

That Siemens is top spec triple A rated, a water miser and it`s quiet too. With the five year full warranty for £399 if it were me I`d be ordering it from JPL today.

If you type “raw AND appliances” exactly as it`s typed into the search option you will get quite a bit of info 😉
