So, in light of that, are there any cheaper , perhaps sub £300, machines anyone can recommend?

    Hi Stef

If you want a machine to give you six years plus for your money then go for the Bosch WAE24164 Net prices seem to suggest you will get one for just under the three hundred. Anything cheaper and it just won`t last anywhere near.

    A quick update

Thanks to everyone who has pm`d me expressing an interest, I think I can cover every single airport in the whole of the UK now 😆

I have given the op`s manager all the costings, he now has to present his case to finance and the hierarchy to see if the rollout can go ahead.

    Hi

As K rightly says the compact washer would be the way to go, the Zanussi ZWC 1300, is probably the best one, while the capacity is slightly smaller it does have a better spin speed. However they are no longer listed on the Zanussi website so I would grab one rather quick if you decide on it.

The top loaders are easier to load but the drum flaps do have vicious springs on them. Slimline top loaders have very similar consumption levels on water and electricity, Their American counterparts like the LSQ8033 are very hungry on water and electricity 😉 are probably the machines you were thinking of.

    Hi Helen

Welcome to the site 🙂 Haier as you are probably aware was a Chinese import bought into the country by a distributor who have sadly now gone. Haier Europe can be contacted here.

I’m leaning towards the Siemens, plus £80 to increase the warranty from 2 to 5 years with the peace of mind that JL are involved. Whichever, I’ll be waiting for the uplift and credit before I commit Mr Plastic.

A good safe bet. I can`t see JLP mucking you around on that one to be fair.

    Hi Lex.

It`s well documented within these pages that the build quality of the Miele is second to none and the guarantees are some of the best around. Longevity of life is also excellent. The issues are that service information to non Miele agents is not very easy to get hold of unless you happen to be friendly with one of their own. Also the cost of spare parts are hugely more expensive than any other manufacturer that I know of.

The Bosch and Siemens machines (same stable 😉 ) are probably the next best, Siemens products are slightly higher spec`d than Bosch and while slightly higher priced they offer better value for money as they have the added bonus of the five year warranty.

The only concern I would have with the web offer of the discontinued model would be does it still come with the five year warranty. If it does then that would probably be my choice. If not I would then go for the SN65E000GB.

    Hi bzz67

Bosch and Siemens are the best I can find. Spec reads 0.5 – 10 bar pressure, flow rate of 11 litre per minute.

Re: Washing Machines, Are LG any good?

    Hi Gareth

LG machines when they are working are good runners. Spares can be slow and tech advice or help from them is very difficult to obtain from them.

If I had a choice of quantity over quality it would be the latter everytime. Having said all that the LG machines are backed up with a full two year warranty and a full ten years on the direct drive motor unit.

If I really wanted a larger capacity machine I would look at the Bosch Exxcel and Logixx ranges.
