ModeratorRe: Shallow depth freezer… One for Don me thinks….
Hi CT
Refrigeration now seems to be 60cm to 65cm deep in order to get the all important A rate which consumers nowadays are seeking. The only good news I can give you after scanning my A-Z of the popular brands is the Lec U5026W undercounter upright freezer which is a mere 56cm depth. Chest freezer depths start out at 58cm deep.

New BDC based around the M25 0844 811 0040 used to be £75 min.

ModeratorRe: How old is this old bird?
Good grief Martin that makes the old bird at least 43 years old and apart from the ice box flap being broken it still works 😀 a shame they don`t make them like that anymore.

Hi Martyn
Probably the better of the two in terms of durabilty would be the Miele, however parts are a lot more expensive than the Siemens and service info is restricted to authorised service dealers.
When it comes down to guarantees, bear in mind you would be using a domestic appliance into what is considered a commercial enviroment. That said Miele will only give a you a 6 month waranty and Siemens would give you 12 months.
All things considered I`d probably go for the Siemens.

ModeratorRe: ARE THEY THE SAME
Hi Dave
Specification for comparison straight from the horses mouths [ Miele KFN12924 and the Liebherr CUN3913 if the spec is very similar I would opt for the Liebherr everytime. Much easier a company to deal with and spares are not as horrendously priced.

Checked through the AEG website and all spec leads to 820 high (adjustable) 600 wide 541 deep.
CheekyThomas wrote:If you can also chase up hotpoint on the OS897DPIX oven and see when they should be coming available as this missus is waiting to order one…
Still not listed on Hotpoint ordering system, so no due date as yet I`m afraid.
