    Re: Soveriegn next?

Just spotted this bit of news on Repaircare.

    repaircare.net wrote:Dear Service Provider.

You have no doubt heard that Sovereign Appliances has regretfully gone into administration and as a consequence we have ceased carrying out any after sales service for Sovereign.

Any outstanding payments due to Connect from Sovereign will now have to be pursued through the administrator appointed to look after Sovereign’s affairs.

What does this mean for our service providers?

Well in theory any jobs that Connect have not been paid for we cannot pay our service provider.

However, the strength of repaircare and our business means that we are able to support our service providers when things go wrong.

We have therefore decided that all Sovereign jobs currently outstanding will be closed down and a BER payment per job closed (£30.00) will be made to the relevant service provider.

Another good reason to ensure work from repaircare remains at the top of your daily service listing and visits.

If you need any more information please contact your regional manager.

    Hi Helen

two models are availablr as iadom rightly says the S202PW is the pump away version (hose into the sink) or the S102GW where a bowl/ bucket is placed under the spout and then lifted to empty. Spec here for your perusal. As helo says the quality isn`t what it used to be.

White Knight also manufacture one of each type as well, however they are not as good as the Creda models IMO.

    Hi

Unusual for a Bosch to fail. Which model do you have and what is the problem?

    Hi Mike

Although Bosch and Siemens are part of the same stable the latter is far better quality in grade of all materials steel included and it will also come with a five ytera warranty as opposed to the two year on Bosch.

Liebherr is still the best though 😉

edit: If like me you don`t know the origin of Linde this article will help.

Re: Servis UK (Antonio Merloni) Bust!?

A news article from Get Connected magazine

Get Connected wrote: Servis UK: Antonio Merloni’s UK branch issues statement

Re-structuring of UK operations “voided Servis UK of any meaningful purpose”

Both Servis UK and its Italian owners, Antonio Merloni S.p.a., went into administration in their respective countries on the same day – October 17th.(see reports on October 17th, 25th and 27th on this website). Antonio Merloni S.p.a. is restructuring under the protection of Italy’s “Marzano Law”, and has now issued a statement on the future of its UK operations.

Issued through its UK branch, the Antonio Merloni S.p.a. statement reiterates much of what has already been reported on this website, confirms the new address of the UK Antonio Merloni Branch as 7-8 Waterloo Street, Birmingham, and outlines what appears to have been a planned running down of the Servis UK Ltd operation at the Wednesbury site, which was the home of the Servis brand for some 80 years.

“A re-structuring of the UK operations had already got under way,” which had been ongoing for “more than six months”, said the statement, and this had “voided Servis UK of any meaningful purpose.” Distribution, storage, handling and spares had already been contracted out, and Antonio Merloni S.p.a.’s application for bankruptcy protection in Italy had, it said, “simply exacerbated and accelerated the ending of the process which would have naturally occurred by the end of this year.”

Looking to the future, “the Servis brand belongs to Antonio Merloni of Italy, so does finished product stock in the UK. Servis UK, now in administration, was simply a company of services, and the Antonio Merloni branch in the UK is now working towards switching outsourcing agreements with suppliers.”

Back in Italy, “the Antonio Merloni factories are currently shut,” and “the Antonio Merloni Branch [in the UK] is unable to process new orders but will accept orders from existing stock depending on availability and terms.”

The UK branch also confirms it is “working with our Italian colleagues, and it is our clear understanding that the Italian Commissioners of the Antonio Merloni business are dealing as a priority with factory suppliers with a view to encouraging the re-opening of the factories as soon as possible.”

So it appears that Servis UK Ltd. will cease as an entity, and the Servis brand will be handled in the UK by a branch of Antonio Merloni S.p.a., a company which is itself in administration and attempting to restructure as a viable trading entity.

A spokesperson for Antonio Merloni told Get Connected Magazine that Servisweee, the compliance take-back scheme, is not affected and will continue to operate as usual, since it is not owned by Servis UK Ltd, but by Servis Property Ltd. This is the company which also owns the Servis Darlaston Road property in Wednesbury, and which applied in April 2007 for outline planning permission for residential development of the ten-acre site.

    Hi colin

Bottom of this Neff page there are two models which come with a choice of fascia. Full two year warranty and a good backup service. Good quality German manufacturer, all they produce is built in appliances.

Neff is part of the same group as Bosch and Siemens 😉

Re: Recommendations please for new Fridge or Fridge/Freezer

    Hi

Liebherr is top of the pops it will outlast anything else out there, I have a customer with one of their fridge freezers which is now 16 years old.

Bosch KSR30N01GB would be my next choice, comes with a two year warranty.

The Zanussi range is a fairly good bet with the ZRA328W in your size range.

Then I would probably then play the lottery with the rest :rolls:

    Hi Debbie

    Easy one this 😀

For a good all round good quality triple AAA rated 13 place setting I would say the Bosch SMS50E02GBhas a two year guarantee as well. Alternatively a good enviromentally sound machine would be the ISE5 DW1 12 place AAA rated dishwasher loaded with features and a full five-year warranty , backed up by local service. A little more expensive but well worth the difference 😉 For more info behind the ideaoligy and concept take a look at the ISE website.
