Re: Help with Bosch appliances – please !

    HI Shal

Good choices all round. the only model I would change would be the hood to go with the 70cm hob I would add the DKE745MGB which is exactly the same but in 70cm which would then give a nice line down through hood and hob.

As for the colour of steel Stainless steel is the bright shiny surface, while brushed steel has the brush stroke effect.

A good way of keeping stainless steel looking good is to useChromol 500ml stainless steel cleaner click here I have good results with this at home.

    Hi tubafan

Having had a look around the different brands I cannot find a double oven with all that`s on your wish list I`m afraid.

The Cannon Kendal ticks the most boxes as you have found. The oval option on the hob is ideal for a fish kettle or if jam making for use with a maslin pan.

If the variable control on the hobs is critical then a compromise may be required as Bosch now produce 60cm electric cookers with variable controls. However it has a large single cavity with drop down door and storage underneath. Benefit is less strain on the back and you can use the door to assist lifting heavier items in and out.

    Hi mel

Sounds like the fan oven element needs replacing. Click the Find An Engineer in your post for assistance or if you are going to attempt a DIY repair ensure you unplug from the mains first.

I had Teka on the phone the other day asking if we could carry out a repair in our area, No probs said I. Will you send us the invoice for payment!! No, but we will gladly take a credit card payment upon completion of the jobs said I.

Needless to say I am still awaiting the go ahead :rolls:

Just goes to show that even the manufacturers will try it on 👿

I saw some of the of the products recently, not very impressed with the build quality in general or the feel of the controls. As K says it is low cost so the quality will not be good. However they are quite well thought of according to theirwebsite back in Poland.

    Hi Paul

Bosch SGS45C02GB good all round unit with a two year warranty, the Zanussi ZDF601 same stable as the Electrolux standard one year warranty. Either will give you good service.

    Hi

From a sensible point of view it`s now ten years old which is a good life for any product let alone an Indesit :rolls: . I don`t really see the point of throwing good money at it, just replace . Leave the oriental names well alone too poor quality with high failure rates. Sorry to say but the new crop of Indesits don`t do much for the trade guys on here either 😉

    Hi Mel

Fan with two triangles will be half width grill and fan, otherwise called hot air grilling.

Fan with three is full width grill and fan.

Hot air grilling as it`s known, is where the grill and fan operate alternately with the grill producing the heat and the fan distributing the heat. Result is evenly cooked and crisp food.

The fan with the cirlcle around it will be the normal cooking fan mode.
