ModeratorRe: Tough Requirements for Fridge/Freezer
Hi Pete
Liebherr do make some of the Miele machines, which models exactly I am not sure of.
Personally I would not have a repair of that expense completed on a Zanussi appliance of that age, after all seven years is a good age for an appliance which runs 24-7.

Hi Pete
The Bosch you have found is probably going to be the nearest you are going to get with the criteria you have set, as far as storage goes one of the Hotpoints like the FF200P. However the build is not as good as the Bosch and will not last as long.
For a lifespan of eight years plus then there is no contest, it has to be Liebherr refrigeration range everytime, trouble is you are going to have to compromise on the storage arrangements as they just don`t do the large door furniture.

Hi
Spares should be still available, an email to spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk should do the trick.

Hi Paul
Bosch part no. 261585, Connect doesn`t go to anything else I`m afraid. Someone else may know better you never know 😉

Hi
For most families the S5555X0GB fills most requirements. As for drying performance avoid plastic tupperware type containers and don`t overload.

It seems the reviews are too new and are rated highly because of delivery.
I think I might avoid.
So it’s a throw up between …… and Liebherr! Decisions decisions!
Decision sorted 😆
Without any shadow of a doubt they are the best you can buy.

Hi
Probably made by one of the lesser manufacturers and badged up for Prestige. These reviews seem quite favourable, so I guess time will tell 😉
Depending on budget you have available I would take a look at Whirlpool, Bosch and Zanussi products for a better build, which also have a good nationwide service backup.

ModeratorRe: Hotpoint DWF70 Demo fault?
Hi George
Try pressing the start and the on/off buttons together for about five seconds, that should take it out of demo mode.

Does that mean that you can select a quarter/half etc position between the clicks – if so perhaps I am worrying about nothing!
(Hopefully my last question on the subject 😳 ).
Unfortunately not tubafan you have to go “onto” the click for it to work. Darn nuisance I know 😆If you are worried about water etc bubbling too fast just remove part of the pan from the ring 😉

ModeratorRe: Dishwashers too tall!
Hi Sandra
By removing the worktop lid you can reduce the height down to 81.5cm. As it would be fitting snug under the worktop a cover shouldn`t be necessary to protect the internal components unless it`s sitting proud of front of the worktop.

Thanks for your help. Any idea why most manufacturers have gone for the ‘clicky’ controls – some cost saving I suspect!
TBH I don`t know, however a tecchie will probably see this and respond 😉

Do they actually work in the same way as the continuosly variable one – ie alter the power-on/power-off duty cycle – or have they got a number of different power outputs? They do indeed – and the plate used will still pulse on and off in the usual way.
