Re: Currys DSG At Their Best

Don`t tell me let me guess was it a SGS45C02 by any chance? I have had three in the last couple of weeks recieved with creased door panels.

They are so thin you only need to put your knee aginst one and that`s it dented 👿 replacement outer door skin £70 plus VAT absolutely ridiculous.

That aside all three have been uplifted for credit, it`s just the poor old customer that has to wait for a replacement that I feel sorry for.

    Hi

The nearest ones would be either the SGS45C02GB from the Classixx from range or the SMS50E02GB from the Loggixx range. You can make comparisons from the Bosch website.

    Hi mrscairns

Thanks for the kind words, we do aim to please 🙂

Retra is the UK`s trade association for independant electrical retailers. Members have to adhere to set standards of service, so you know you are going to be in safe hands. There is a “find a retailer” button down the left hand side 😉

Re: recommned a sub £500 washer dryer

    Hi

In the sub £500 I would go with the Bosch WVD24520GB as a reasonable bet, the best one being The Miele WT2670.

A good article here on washer dryers which is worth a read.

I would still consider a seperate tumble dryer even if it`s one of the small 3kg compact machines 😉

    Hi Spooky

No wisdom from me I`m afraid just Google 😆

The link for Siemens dishwashers is here hydro wash and dry featured on page 4. Definately worth the extra pennies IMO.

    Re: Fridge/freezer choice

    Hi Ness

There are a few models out there which don`t have the ice / water facility. There is a good guide on American machines here however I would look at getting a large larder fridge with matching freezer alongside probably 1.8 metres high by 60cm wide would give you more storage, no ice/ water which you say you don`t need anyway. You can always change the door opening on one machine to give that “American” effect as well.

Bosch and Liebherr would be our choices of appliances for quality and reliability but they don`t come cheap 😉

Re: New oven dimensions – door width, or cavity width?

    Hi Sam

Internal cavity sizes are circa 570mm which is pretty much standard nowadays, old oven out and new one in. Outer dimensions of 595mm is indeed the door size.

You answered your own question 😆

I would just like to say to the many members of the public who post looking for advice and help on many issues that this thread is not the standard by any means. The trade guys and gals who advise on here are proffessionals with many years of experience under their belts, who give advice for free and in a lot of instances in their own time.

So who are you going to believe 😉
