Re: Induction hobs and built-under ovens

    Hi Phil

I`d be more concerned achieving the minimum of 65 mm from the top of the worktop to the top of the oven and 20mm at the rear. Reason being is that adequate ventilation is the key for the cooling fans to get a good air supply so the hob doesn`t overcook. The worktop depth I would probably check with Neff advice line on 0844 892 8926.

    Hi Debbie

Breville JK135 in silver, or it`s sister the JK155 in black or the Russell Hobbs 14339 also in black, come into your criteria. Web links

    Russell Hobbs Kettles.

    Breville kettles.

As far as places to buy depends if you want to “Google” or support a “use it or lose it ” bricks and mortar retailer 😉

    Hi LFW

While the two companies come under the same banner the build quality on Cannon has always been higher. I can certainly recommend them. In fact we sell more Cannon cookers than all other suppliers put together, which is purely down to the quality of product.

Rumour has it that Connect purchased the Micromark brand from BDC in order to help their cashflow.

Our local branch here in Exeter has gone as have a few other small ones around the country as far as I can tell from a conversation I`ve just had with an operator at the Cardiff branch after my call was redirected to them.

It doesn`t look good at the mo for them.

    Hi LFW

While the functions are indeed the same across the two models, the Cannon comes out best due to the heavier guage of steel on the cabinet and doors. Much more substantial machine all round.

Our daughter had the same choice late last year as a house warming present. “No contest” she said after opening and closing doors etc ,it has to be the Cannon.

Just updated the BDC thread. I see Connect are now stocking Micromark small appliances supplied by BDC.

    Hi

If you go for either a seperate grill and oven or double oven, the main door at the bottom will be a side open one.

Single cavity ovens will be drop down doors 😉 .

    Hi

They are one and the same 😉 Bosch nowadays use three letters at the start of model numbers. It probably seems cheap as it is has been discontinued for some time now, so I doubt if there is any stock available.
