Hi Tom
I would take a look at the Bosch and Zanussi ranges, but you may have to go over the budget to get a quality appliance. If you can go the extra mile then take a look at the Miele range.

ModeratorRe: Best Make Washer Dryer to buy?
Hi
You should be able to pick up a redemption form from any Miele authorised dealer. Complete it with your contact details, model number and serial number of appliance purchased and post it back to the address shown, the appliance is then covered for five years.

Hi Judie
If you want the nice layout, better than average efficiencies then you are indeed going to need to pay those “fairyland prices” 😉
A good all round range would be the Bosch appliances, which are well made and have a two year warranty. if you can afford to go the extra mile then yes the Miele range would be an excellent choice.

Hi
The only one I can find is the Gorenje WDI63113 washer dryer which is 590 wide. Not the best around but under the circumstances better than nothing . http://www.gorenje.co.uk/washer-dryer Also listed in my info is the WI63113 washing machine only which is not on the Gorenje website which should also be 590 wide. A quick phone call to 0845 050 8555 may be the answer.

Are they Gorenje dryers by the way? 🙂
The WTA4007 from the current range is indeed made in Slovenia. When I pressed our rep for any further information on the others in the range all he would say was ” We have factories all over Europe they could be made anywhere.” :hmm:

ModeratorRe: Intergrated Washer Dryer Advice (Bosch/Hotpoint )
Hi Alex
As Ken rightly says not many people recommend the combined washer dryers. Much better performance, reliability and less water consumption from seperate appliances.
However if space is at a premium then you have no choice .

Hi Alex
Is this a new purchase enquiry? If so then I would go with the Bosch everytime, not only is it a much better built product and it also has the benefit of a full two year guarantee. Bosch service should it be required is readily available nationwide.

Nope all it needs is a 13 Amp socket and a door or window nearby to let the steam escape 😉

Hi STS
When it comes to built in appliances I always prefer the Neff brand as they have a better spec IMO and clearer control panels. Sizewise the Neff is 595 wide and 816 high which is adjustable.

Hi
If you can squeeze a compact dryer in which are only 20″ square that would be a far better option than a combined machine. As far as budget is concerned you would do no worse than one of the Bosch classixx machines such as the WAE28162 and say something like a Creda T313VW tumble dryer.

I’m a Kiwi living in Scotland and despair at all the front-loading washing machines which don’t seem to be nearly as effective as machines from home – would import one if my finances would stretch that far!!!
I would try a good local independant retailer nearby. Failing that John Lewis for the Maytag MFA9501 . Failing that one too, there are quite a few site users who are in Scotland. I am sure that one of these fine people will be able to point you in the right direction
