ModeratorRe: Ultra-slimline dishwasher (< 450mm)
Hi JB
The only extra slim machine I have ever come across was the Creda spacesaver which fitted in under the draining board side of the sink, unfortunately this was discontinued ions ago .
The choices you now have as far as I am aware would be as you say the 45cm size or a worktop model suh as the Bosch SKT5102GB. Only other thing you could do would be to take out a base unit if you have the space and fit a 60cm model which would be more economical.

Glad to have been able to help .
Let us know which appliance you purchase, as someone else may be looking for something similar and could find the answer here in this thread.

Hi
If you can afford the Miele then go for it. The Bosch, Neff or Siemens would be my next choice. They are all part of the same group but the specs are slightly different. Personally the Neff range give a better spec than the others 😉 .
The models are
Neff model B4550
Bosch HBN730520
Siemens HB770560B (this is the base machine in the range).

Quarter wrote:Don,
Firstly thank you for the clarity but when you say after sales do you mean that provided by the manufacturer or do you mean to get someone on a call out to look at it and fix it? The reason I ask is beacuse when I looked at the call an engineer link through this site Admiral were not listed unless it comes under another name that I am not familiar with? Would you be able to shed some light please. The After sales service as supplied by the manufacturers during the guarantee period IMO is superior. As for local service thereafter a call to Admiral on 01737 231100 should give a result to a local engineer, Maytag and Admiral are part of the same group 😉 .
Quarter wrote:Another question, the model number you quoted (GC2224GEKW) was for a white appliance, changing the letter at the end of the model number from W to B gave me the black colour appliance but of course the wife is after a stainless look. Not so easy to detect this one as I have 3 possible options, SAF224GB or SAD224GB or SAX224GB, I’m not sure which is which?
Sorry for the lengthy ramble…… 😀Okay from the info I can glean the:
SAF is stainless steel with a black drinks dispenser.
SAD is silver ( I presume a spray finish)
SAX is fully clad stainless steel ( probably all the way round ?)
If in doubt a phone call to the above number should reveal all.

Hi Quarter
The Admiral is a better built appliance, will give a longer life span and should it fail the after sales service is better than most of the others currently available IMO.

Take a look at the Admiral GC2224GEKW. Slightly more expensive but worth it IMO.

Forget the Fagor and Nab a Neff 😉 , much better build, nationwide own service back up and two year warranty.
You can get the B1442 for about the same money. Granted it does not have the pyrolitic cleaning. However it will oulast the Fagor. Looks nicer too 8)

ModeratorRe: Advice on frost free f/freezer up to 70cm wide
Hi
In the 60cm range Bosch with four freezer boxes the KGU32125GB or look at the KGN39V00GB, granted it has only three boxes with on being a “big” box. Capacity wise it is only .3 cu foot smaller and cheaper too 😉 . Or the Hotpoint FF187 which is available in either white Graphite or satin aluminium has four drawers too or the FF200 which has the larger fridge.
Looking at the 70 cm range of which there are few, they all appear to have only a small freezer on the top with a large fridge under. So probably not an option.American side by sides are all about the 91cm width, yes you have the Samsung range which is good value or for an extra pound or two look at the Admiral range.
Fridge freezers vary nowadays in the depth some are 60cm while others can be 62 or even 65cm deep. Just something to bear in mind if space is at a premium.

Stay with the Neff and Smeg option, enjoy using well made appliances and admire the build quality. As and when you come to sell the house they will still look good. Brother in law the estate agent says “a good kitchen and bathroom are the top two rooms which will sell a house” 😉 .
