Out of those two dan I would go with the Zanussi. Personally though I would recommend the Bosch range of machines as the build is better, they have a two year guarantee and the service is good too. Slighlt less in capacity I know but a better machine 😉 . Have a look at the WAE24162 1200 spin or the WAE28162 which is the 1400 version. Price wise there is not a lot of difference and are in the price range you are looking at.

The only one I know of is the Whirlpool AKZ196 which has a tilt down grill for easy cleaning. You can view the specification here.

    Hi whitegoodsman

I just ordered a WF865A instuction book from Hotpoint and thought I would be cheeky and ask if they had a WD420? According to the young lady I spoke to they now have them in stock. Apparently there are two versions of this machine so serial number required when you order.

I cannot find anything that fits the spec I`m afraid 🙁 . Lec were the only supplier that produced slim depth models. They were taken over recently by Glen Dimplex group who have overhauled the range. As a result 56cm deep is the smallest now available.

Ikea or John Lewis ❓ maybe worth a phone call 😉

    Hi Shirl

To protect the electronics in the machine, I would recommend switching it off using the on/off button when not in use.

Could you let me know if non-frost free freezers are okay to get – because they seem a lot cheaper

Yep they are fine and much more reliable IMO than the frost free models.

As far as brands are concerned I would agree with Hotpoint and Whirlpool but leave Samsung alone 😉 . For 350 gold nuggets I would look at the Bosch range which I think are the next best thing after Miele. They also come with a two year guarantee as standard. Any local retailer in your`e area should be able to advise and offer the best service.

Re: Bosch ‘SuperQuick’ wash just 15mins?

Just to add confusion to confusion 😉 . Programme guide states Super quick “easy care textiles made of cotton, linen, synthetic fibres or blended fabrics”. ” Short programme approx 15 minutes suitable for refreshing.” Got one plugged in here and yep it shows 15 minutes. I cannot get it to go to 20 mins even if I increase temperature and spin it still stays at 15 mins 😉 .

Sorry Gegsy cannot acount for the missing three minutes, Bermuda triangle thingy maybe 😆

    Hi squadge

The Hotpoint/Creda machines are very much the same, these vent through the door or the White Knight which vents from the rear. These seem to be the best ones around. Go for a reverse action model to give a slightly better drying time and tangle free clothes at the end of the cycle, there`s hardly any difference in the price 😉
Your`e local independant retailer will be able to help.

Nothing on the market that I know of GB. Perhaps it could be something in the future for ISE 💡 😉

Re: Narrow width tumble dryer 560mm

I`m afraid not squadge all the larger models are 600 wide 🙁 . However Hotpoint, Creda amongst others produce a compact machine which measures 670 high 490 wide and 480 deep, however the load size is 3kg. On the bright side it`s better than nothing 😉

    GB
Zanussi produce one TC180W slimdepth condenser dryer 686 high 595 wide 420 deep. Downside it`s only 3.4kg . Upside it can be wall mounted ( comes complete with kit ). Retail circa £299.00 🙄

In Malta recently we were surprised to see Morris Oxfords still being used as taxis and a fleet of 1950`s Leyland single decker buses 😯 . The main bus terminal at Valletta gate is heaving with them and boy do they stink fumes everywhere. Obviously no emmission testing done on the island 😉
